Well I think Lord Megatron Decepticon and An_de ar good at this avatar buisness. The unicron avatar is somewhat flawed.
I could get round to it when I've finished my heap of requests...

Cybertron Seekers are done. They transform to jet, back to robot, then dance. I'm now going to the pub. I'll be back in a few hours if anyone needs me.

I'm not sure who the toughest would be but I'm guessing he'd be one of:

The triple changers eg: Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Octane, Springer, Cybertron Megatron & Galvatron, Skorponok, Fortress Maximus.... you get the rest.

Or the more then triple changers like Sixshot and RID Megatron or RID Galvatron (10 modes).

Or either of the Omega's, Sentinel or Supreme...

But then really they could all be pretty simple if we transform 'em the way we want to (allowing hands and heads to dissapear wherever we want). If we were to animate any of the transformers the exact way they do transform then I'd say one of the more recently made transformers would be more difficult. Cybertron, Armada, Movie, Energon would be harder then G1, G2, BW, etc... The more recent ones have alot more detail put into their transformations and would be more complicated to accurately replicate into a gif.

Yes, G1, G2, BW are the easiest. About RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Movie... Well yes, in GIF animations is easy to make their hands, heads and legs disappear and to transform only their torso.

Exactly. Really I reckon making Movie Megatron, or Cybertron Megatron even, transform (as accurately as they could be to their proper transformation) would probably be the most difficult. What do you reckon?

Also an icon/avatar with a scaled head to fit in with his body size would probably solve alot of problems. It's funny watching a head |-------| yay wide dissapear into a chest |---| yay wide lol true?

In almost every avatar when I transform a transformer, I make his head disappear into his chest, his hands disappear too, also the legs. Look at my avatar - the robot's head is as big as his alt mode
