Stopped by my local TRU yesterday, and ALL the Deluxe figures are now $14.99. WTF? They're crazy! Is this a nationwide change? It seems really stupid considering they're always marking them down to sell off their excessive inventory. If no one buys they figures at $12.99 or $11.99, what makes them think they'll pay $14.99?

Also, the Preview DOTM Prime is $9.99, two bucks more than every other store.

It seems like TRU is always either charging too much or slashing prices to get rid of inventory. Why can't they find the middle ground? Everything is either two dollars more than every other store, or it's on Clearance.

I know that I'm talking Canadian Dollars here, so it's not quite an accurate comparaison, but Zellers, TRU and the like usually sell Deluxes at the $15.99 (TRU) - $17.99 (Zellers) price point.

The Superstore near my house still has a million shelfwarming Generations Thrusts and Drifts, retailing for $19.99, at which they will probably never sell. Eventually, they will clear them all out, probably before X-mas, but in the meantime that means NOTHING NEW is EVER put out.

Just got back from TRU and they had 3 rows of pegs priced $11.99, $12.99 and $13.99. No rhyme nor reason behind it as it was ROTF, WFC, HFTD, RTS and Generations all randomly placed on the different priced pegs.

I did pick up Blurr (ended up being $13.99) and HA Sideswipe (on sale for $17.99.)

Be a contributer to TRU, and next time you go there, if they are still like that, look at the price peg labels, and switch the transformers according to label. I'm sure TRU visitors will thank you (but not to your face).

i can second this gouge by TRU.Stopped by today and saw Kup for 14.99..Already had him on order from BBTS but I picked him up anyway..Anybody looking for 1?

and peole thought i was off in saying that we were going to see price increases on all these size classes. It was inevitable think about it this way as long as they keep their prices that high all the other retailers have no reason to do sales.this is going to be a rough movie line coming up you can quote me on that.

Ah, I remember the time of $7.00 deluxes quite well. I filled out my Universe collection for much less than I had originally budgeted.

Seriously, collecting is getting to the point where I'm just going to start ordering everything online. As much as I enjoy raiding 15 different stores looking for that one figure, gas is getting too expensive.

I miss the days of the $7.99 deluxe, $15 Mega, and $20 Leader on clearance. All ended after Energon. Is it me or did the size of deluxe class get much smaller?

Anyways, I think that is a dead age.

If the oil scalpers will finally lower the prices or if the we found alternate sources of power, toys will go back to that price, but for now, we're stuck wit the inflation and I think it's here to stay.

Collecting has changed so much since I was little.

Agreed. I gladly paid the $10 shipping to order Scourge off ebay rather than waste another afternoon driving around in vain trying to find one in stores. :BANG_HEAD:

When I got my RTS Tracks at my local TRU it was a whopping $16.
Also when I got my RTS Jazz at TRU it was only $13!
What is wrong with my local TRU? Maybe it's the econamy.
