There's been more than one Dinobot combiner custom, but this is the first I've seen that's Neo G1. Awsome work!

More like g1 devastator, for example the abdomen is made from Grimlock but the chest and shoulders are extra parts. The shins, upper arms, and stomach region are all dinobots, the rest is extra parts. Though the extra parts turn into something else themselves

what to the extra pieces become? pictures please?
is wheelie just a head master now, he lost his ability to become vehicle i assume from the look?

To me a Dinobot Combiner should have the intelligence level of a regular Transformer, but with high battle instincts, perhaps like Beast Wars Dinobot. An issue to this however is Wheelies psychology. Combined would be a great fighter but with a playful nature that would toy too much with his opponent, leaving too many openings.

I agree completely with the other posters--this super robot is long overdue. As for the question about why Hasbro and Takara haven't released such a robot, I suspect it might have to do with cost and 'interest.' Years ago (during the Beast Wars days) I found a poll on Hasbro's website asking that if they released some Dinobots, would I (or even you) buy them. I responded to that poll with "yes."

Sadly, they delivered on that promise and released Dinobots that had Beast Wars style transforms and weaponry and there was no giant combined form. I guess after that Hasbro figured the interest wasn't there and dropped any further attempts. Perhaps with enough encouragement from G1 collectors they might rethink that decision. After all, didn't Peter Cullen get Optimus' role due to fan pressure?

Finally, are there plans to release a Targetmaster version (no Wheelie) that has an ankylosaurus as the hip and thigh region and the back armor as the chestpiece (much like Snap Trap's shell for Piranacon) as well as a raptor (say, an Ultraraptor) for the gun/shoulder cannon? That I would truly love. It was something I had envisioned since early '86 but lacked the ability to design/build myself.

Again, I think the touches you made to this robot are astounding. I especially love the robot's head as well as the wing-like pieces that stick out from the forearms; they almost look like they have a bladed edge. And, as for the gold paint, it gives the robot a "battle damaged" or "veteran combatant" look to it. It's impressive....

I showed this to one of my friends who really doesn't know anything about G1 and doesn't seem too crazy about collecting G1 styled toys. However he seems to have changed his mind after seeing this. We have actually broken into discussion as to why third party individuals are capable of producing better toys than main stream manufacturers. And I honestly can't come up with a good reason, not even a crappy excuse as to why.

I doubt anyone from Hasbro pays attention to sites like this but just in case: This is what we, the older fans look for when we browse or buy Transformer toys. Gaining new fans is fine and good but if you look to please those who grew up with the original cartoon and comics you gotta go with nostalgia. Personally that is exactly why I love the Classics series. And I would like to see more that brings new life to old, familiar faces.

Only two that tie it that I've seen is the MP Omega Supreme and Predaking X.
This is amazing.

MP style? You going to improve GrimLock though? His MP Dino mode always looked odd to me....but that's just me.
MP would actually be better scale...weren't the Dinobots pretty big anyways?

ANYONE would buy it, I was born 10 years after G1(or so) and I watched the 86 movie JUST for Grimlock...
And I didn't really know who he was...
Plus, the combiner gimmick seems to work well on kids...RID had RUination, I only got Mega Octane but I wanted to get the rest just because they all combined...

I was thinking of leaving Grimlock "as is" he's a great figure....possibly give him LED eyes. I'll most likely give them all a little battle wear and tear.
