Dinobots VS Constructicons
So, I just received PCC Steamhammer, and I am completely in love with him and his rival, Grimstone. These guys are completely awesome.
Playing with the pair of PCC Dinobots and PCC Constructicons gave me a fun idea - creating a Dinobots VS Constructicons shelf. If I were to create one, which Dinobot and Constructicon sets should be on it?
Additionally:
Are there any good Mini-Con power ups that would be compatible with the PCC Combiners? I've got my eye on the Dinobot Mini-Con exclusives, and I currently have Cybertron Longarm deployed with Steamhammer.
Do you think non-Constructicons like Cybertron Backstop, Cybertron Dirt Boss or Armada Scavenger would be a good fit based on color scheme?

Well, the PCC's compliment each other well, as do the G1 versions. You could also do the following:
Universe Micromaster Devastator
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/universe/devastator/348/1/18/
vs.
WST Dinobots
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/smallest-transformers/grimlock/1765/1/116/
Energon Dinobots
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/energon/grimlock/416/1/33/
vs.
Universe RID Landfill repaint Devastator

Classics Grimlock
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/classics/grimlock/1051/1/22/
vs.
Soon to be released "Not-Devastator" Hercules
http://cdn.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Hercules-1_1304271325.jpg
Those are probably the best looking matchups. There alternatives such as Energon/Classics Devastator and Animated Grimlock (even Alternator Grimlock), but I'd go with the pairings I listed if I wanted a shelf featuring the Dinobots vs. Devastator.

Road Wrecker Mini-Con Team would go well with the Constructicons.

The new Minicon Dinobots (and a cat) are pretty cool and well worth picking up. There is a WST KO Devastator that would ggo great with the WST Dinos and free up the Micromaster Devastator to go with the Minicons. And if you want to go for extreme opposites, ROTF Supreme Devastator vs Animate Dinobots! Plus there are Actionmasters of Devastator, Grimlock and Snarl.
Hope it helped!

Re: Dinobots VS Constructicons
One thing I left out of my post was that I really like the way PCC builds on the the concept of combiners and expands the universe, which is why I'm interested in doing this - Transformers teams can have more than the standard 5-6 characters.
Anyway...
The way I see it, I don't think they need to match up exactly. I figured it's going to be lopsided in some way. As for the the Hercules combiner... ooph, that's way out of my price range.
I knew that there was an RID repaint of the Autobot combiner team, but I didn't realize that was the Universe version of Devastator. For some reason I thought that was a different brand new toy altogether (:
Bingo! Thanks!
I used to have that WST KO Devastator, but I sold it because it was so brittle. The Actionmasters are a great idea, I forgot all about those.
I thought about using Animated and Movie toys, but I'm not sure if that will fit aesthetically. I may go with the Legends Movie Devastator instead of the Supreme one... I'm not a big fan of oversized toys for some reason.
Anyway...

Don't see why Movie figures wouldn't work since the PCCs are movie-verse themselves.

They're only kind-of movie-verse and it may just be Salvage and the Chopster-guy's larger bot.
They were purposely vague about the placement of these characters.
@It is Him... I tend to put four Microns with each team because they can usually plug into the drones and "drive" them in a sense. Basically, I just match up colors and types.

DotM HA Basic Icepick is supposed to be PCC Icepick according to his bio.

I would do Legends Movie Devastator in G1 colors vs Masterpiece Grimlock, just for the lulz. Well, if I had MPGrim

Ah, but that's the thing, I have all of about 5 mini-cons, so I'd really like some suggestions there. Blurrz had a good one.

I figured you'd probably dig em. Steamhammer and his drones are the only PCC 5 pack that I really liked of the 4 I bought. The Dinos were neat but didn't really do much for me.

Yeah, it's a shame Hasbro didn't lead the first wave with these guys. The fandom would probably have had a different opinion about the line.

Drill Bit seems a good minicon, his color scheme matches:

He comes with Universe Heavy Load:

I always wondered what PCC Sledge would look combined with Constructicons limbs.

Good luck, could show us pictures when you`re finished?
