Divebomb blows....
I bought the Wal-Mart exclusive Divebomb... MAN that figure sucks. He is forever staying in his alt mode. I gave up on keeping his wacky arm in place. I'll know better next time....

LOL true, and in EVERY incarnation...that arm has never held in place

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

I have Galaxy Force (Takara) Thundercracker and his arm seems perfectly fine -- never had a problem with it, yet my Cybertron Skywarp is uselessly loose. Might be a Hasbro exclusive problem.

No no. Let's not start that up.
While the mold for this figure does suck hard...(I've hated buying it 3 times in a row...) the Divebomb incarnation is an improvement. There is a little notch which, when transformed properly, locks the big arm into place. I don't believe this was present on the past figures.

Re: Divebomb blows....
I'm not one to complain about getting a new jet, even if the mold isn't that great.
That said, I now have a lap-full of them because I wanted to check on that notch. Skywarp and Divebomb have the exact same little peg and notch. TC has more of a tiny ridge that looks like a plastic seam instead of something for that notch to use, which is probably why he's the floppiest of the bunch.
(Besides, Divebomb is a blue-eyed Decepticon - that amuses me)

Notch or no, that design is still poopy.

Makes sense. I couldn't remember if Skywarp had it or not. My Divebomb holds the notch much better than Skywarp. But they are pretty poopy molds and I have to be honest when I say I don't mess with em too much.

Ugh, I knew when images of this guy first started showing up it would be the hatred of Cybertron Thundercracker all over again. Again, this goes to show how a crappy G1/G2 toy can be a-okay and yet a modern toy in similar style is just horrible. Guys, he’s a cyber jet. When I first got Cybertron Skywarp I wasn’t expecting anything good since I had read all the bad talk about Thundercracker (who I passed on because of all the bad said) I open him up and it’s a deluxe sized Cyberjet! I was thrilled!

Dude, it's not that he's a "cyberjet".
It's that his frickin left shoulder will NOT stay on worth a flip - at least, the T-cracker and Skywarp versions, dunno about the Dive Bomb version.

I agree and I don't.
Transformation is similar and the concept is similar. Yet, Cyberjets had nice articulation, held together fairly well, and the missle in their arm constituted the problematic length of the arm (they also had elbows...). T'Cracker, Skywarp, and Divebomb are all very flimsy feeling because the cannon arm is a huge unsupported weight and locks really poorly.

The big gun arm kills the mold. However its not really that bad. It has minimal robot kibble in jet mode which makes it a good looking one at that.
But that huge honking arm just tears the robot mode apart. They could have easily given him a regular arm, with the big gun on a removable peg, and he would have been a great seeker.
I passed on Thundercracker, but something in me decided to give the mold a chance, so I picked up Skywarp when he came out. I'm sorry I did. Thankfully I have my Classics Skywarp as my definitive Skywarp
If I have to mention another guy that should have never been repainted it would have to be BeastWars Transmetals 2 Cybershark a.k.a R.I.D Skybyte. Just one awful transforming shark. He also suffers from the same big honking arm problem. Wasn't collecting during Beat wars so didn't know about it. But I found a Cybershark for cheap long after R.I.D had been officially over, and boy what a let down he was.

We don't hate you, we might flame you though

Anyway, its not the fact that he has a gun, there could be a ton of different ways to give him a large menacing weapon. Having a flimsy arm that can't cope with the weight, and can't actually be clipped in place or anything like that is what gets at least me.
As I said a removable arm mounted null ray would have been just as effective, and would have distributed the weight. Allowing for a sturdier figure.

Re: Divebomb blows....
I had high hopes for this mold. When I took Skywarp home, the bot mode looked fantastic on the box art. Needless to say, what a disappointment.
To show my hatred for this figure ... I recently purchased a house about 4 mos ago. I purposely left a stale/unopened/expired nature valley granola bar, and Cybertron Skywarp sitting on the kitchen counter of my old Apt. when I moved out.
The rest of the apt was empty. Somebody out there is scratching their head, haha.

LOl never let it be said that although they have improved vastly over thew last few years, Hasbro can still deliver a nice fail sandwich

you know I remember working forever on this guy when I had him as Thundercracker to try to fix that Damn arm somehow through modding him, I finally gave up and tossed him in the Armada storage bin never to be seen again...
