I actually broke my Generations Scourge too. The chest piece on mine was very stiff and Saturday when i was transforming him into robot mode the chest slide up but one of the arms didnt. It completely separated from the chest plate. It might have been because i picked him up used from a comic shop, for fairly cheap, so the figure was used and abused. I noticed later it had stress cracks on the main chest plastic.
However i do have another Scourge still on the card. I bought it a while back then realized there seemed to be alot of glue on the cuff of his forearm so i planned on returning him. If i keep him im worried the same thing might happen to this one.

I own three of them. They all seem to be holding up just fine. Granted you have to be careful with the chest or else you can easily damaged it, but that's nothing that slow and deliberate handling of the transformations sequence should be able to prevent.
Formerly Nova-Ting Ranger (That's right, I'm back! And in Pog form!)

While transforming you got to carfully spread the arms out first while you move up the chest piece. Also make sure you fold the head upwards as well before doing so. That way you avoid breakage of the shoulder pegs.

It looks like you have a good candidate for a zombie Scourge.
