Its funny becouse i'll always be wereing a tf shirt when i go out and i'll be like damn it! becouse i'm 13 and all the little kids would be staring at me(same with the parents). honestly yes it is uncomfortable but its worth finding what you want! :D

I think 13 buying toys is completely normal in most other adult's eyes. Wait till your in your late 20s and walking into TRU alone.

ha ya! but not as much though the teens eyes.I'd much rather live in the 80's has my 3 favorite things Transformers, friday the 13th,and ghostbusters. Stll one thing I hate is when I drawing a transformers and some one goes "is that a gundam?" or "is that optimus prime?"(when I would be drawing g2 megatron) and I think NO DAMN IT!

You wouldn't wanna live in the 80s, where the store doesn't even know what Transformers are. They'd point you to the tools section or electronics. #-o

What stores were you shopping at? I was way more into Legos & She-ra back then, but Transformers weren't hard to find. I had a couple.

I think it was called Fedco or something, the chain is long-gone. I meant that back during the early years of Transformers like 1984, if you ask about a Transformers toy, they actually think you're talking about "transformers".

I usually got my toys at Payless, remember back when it was kind of a pharmacy & store instead of just a shoe store? What the hell happened there?

I don't remember if they really had a pharmacy, but they were a pretty big store, kind of like a Rite Aid or Walgreens or whatever. Except maybe minus the pharmacy. Crap, I can't remember. It was too long ago. I DO know, however, that they sold a HELL of a lot more than just shoes. In fact, they didn't really sell shoes at all. Thinking this far back so early in the morning is making my brain hurt.

I'm kind of glad that I've dealt with people at stores that basically mind their own business. No one has ever spoken to me about my Transformers purchases, though I've only started collecting this last summer. Well, that's a lie. Actually, I've spoken with some people but it was either kids who asked about a figure or fellow adult collectors. The store staff don't bat an eye at me buying a toy. I think their spirits are crushed and they just do their work like good company robots should.

Yea, a lot of stores where I used to get my toys from are long gone, all replaced by either Targets or WMs.

I don't hate WM. If I hate it, I'd have to hate every other big business, which really limits my ability to buy Transformers.

Me too! So much faster and I like the female voice...she's pretty.

Wait, must stay on topic!

I bought RotF Scout Rollbar today at Zellers and when I paid for it, the lady cashier did the slightest of double takes. Now I'm not an average looking person around these parts. I'm 5'9", Asian, and weigh roughly 220lbs(I'm chubby but a good part of me is muscle thanks to slaving away in my parents' restaurant since I was 10, carrying crates and bags of produce and dead animal parts up and down flights of stairs. I keep active with sports these days.).

So here I come, holding a small Scouts class toy package in my paws and I have a pleasant smile going on. Just being friendly because I know how working in the service industry isn't the greatest job but maybe creepy too since I really was happy to buy Rollbar on 30% discount and it must've showed in my smile. Anyways, that was the first time I noticed something like that, not that she was rude or anything, but honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before today.

Self checkout lines are awesome.

Earlier this week when I got Skids & Mudflap in their separate Chevy concept forms I went thru automotive because it was bereft of any customers and the stupid little rolly-polly cashier was so lazy about scanning them, wouldn't even look me in the eye and accidentally dropped one on the floor. If I were seriously collecting them & leaving them in the package like I had my Star Wars figures (thanks, seedy ex-boyfriend that stole them) I would have had a coronary.

Srly, at least the cashier didn't say anything.

I know that feeling, which is why I get the stuff that I want to keep MISB in TRU. Where they handle the toys carefully. I want to rant on some peeps that work in retails, don't drop or shove the stuff on pegs or shelves. Srly, why would you expect people to buy items that are all banged up by the reshelving people and w/e. Reminds me of the time that the loading people just shoving bags of chips on the shelves like they're boxes or w/e.

I don't have any recent TRU staff experience so if they seem to be exceptionally careful in how they handle their inventory, I'm thinking there may be specific company policy for handling inventory going on?

WM carries all kinds of products whereas TRU carries toys, it's what they specialize in so maybe the company is more strict on inventory care.
