With the onslaught of DOTM gradually saturating the news already and all other lines that will reach their imminent doom to make way for DOTM.
I think i'm going too bow out of collecting for a while.
Sure there's 3rd party stuff and older figures to get but i'm pretty happy with my collection and have most figures i'm interested in.
It just might be a good time for a break.
Anybody else feel the same way?

I am not deliberately saying "I am not buying more figures", but I don't foresee buying very much. Outside of leader Ironhide, I haven't see very much from DOTM that I want to spend money to obtain.

Honestly, my wallet can use the break.

I hear you, brother. I bowed out in 2009 when the ROTF series came out. I LOL'd pretty hard when I saw that they flooded all the stores here in Oregon with the stupid Toaster guy...

Not bowing out, but probably slowing my Hasbro buying after I grab the few DotM figs I want(Megs, Shockwave, the Dreads, any new Soundwave they produce).

Not completley counting out a good figure or two, but what i've seen just isnt good enough to warrant spending money...yet.

The DOTM toy line does appear to be...lacking. But I cannot let that stop me now, I must still collect the crappy ones!!!

I like the movie look, so I'll be buying these up. Probably not a crazily as the last 2 movies, but I'll have a fair number of DOTM figures soon.

I will buy figures of characters appearing in the movie. With the following restrictions:

-Will not buy a figure that updates a pre-existing one*, unless this new version is spectacular. (I.E. Voyager Ironhide.) *= Which is pretty much the entire line.

-Will not buy toy only figures.

-Will not buy roleplay.

Outside of new characters, a few good update figures, and perhaps one with a gimmick that just screams "BUY ME", I won't have much to buy out of this line.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I already got Voyager Megatron (nice figure in both modes; makes me wish there was a leader class) and I'm getting leader Ironhide.

Im still undecided. I never purchased anything from the first film but I picked up all the Autobots from ROTF and I might look at picking up the deluxe wreckers and Mirage (assuming there is one) to round out the Movie bots collection.

Things change when you see that shiny shiny plastic hanging up on the pegs

This is mostly me, too. Not enough room to host duplicates. I'm just glad I waited on a movie Megs until now.

I agree. I have never purchased any Magatron from any of the movie lines so far but the DOTM Megs is prolly one i'll break down and buy. I'm such a hypocrite.

With that being said i'll only buy him at discount though cause i know he and the entire line will be on shelves for a long time to come. So no rush, that's for sure.

And this is me too. I don't like buying 'updates,' unless it's of a guy that I don't have or they are superior to the previous version. But I have yet to come across the 'superior' version however.

I am in a TF holding pattern as well, but I think it's due to my lack of interest in more recent TF lore and a growing interest in other fictions. I'm also not too enamoured with the DOTM figures I've seen, but thats just from seeing them in the stores this week. We'll have to see what I actually end up buying, but realistically, not much at all. I put down a Starscream last night, and I've never had a SS in my hands at retail and then failed to purchase it, ever. I think I'm just not that into these figures.

ive only gotten about 5 or 6 and from what ive seen i wont be getting much more. ill most likely be filling holes in my alternity, reissues,classics, and fp releases this summer and well into the fall.
