So apparently, the separate display bases for each of the 5 figures lock together for a single, light up display stand for the combined mode.
Incidentally, 116 step transformation. Make sure you have time...I will post alt mode pics in three days when I finish changing him....

I found a video that is helping but it skips some steps. The instruction manual really is terrible.
Honestly though, I am really happy with the figure. It's EXTREMELY solid, has great poseability, and keeps the theme of the team going, continuing to focus on the altmode and realistic colors rather than cartoon accuracy. Some of the joints require a good amount of force to move, they hold poses well afterwards. If it wasn't for the bad directions, this would be a great figure IMHO. I'd like to see more figures done in this style, focusing on alt mode accuracy rather than cartoon accuracy which is often campy.

So it actually DID take three days to transform him. Just like any of the other versions, all the bot parts are on the bottom of the alt mode. He is very large though....over 19 inches long.

I think Fireflight has my favorite jet mode the F4 is so beautiful.
Skydive is my favorite robot mode, it's just so solid and dynamic.
Silverbolt is a nightmare to transform, but he is huge!
And the big guy himself is limited in posing, but man does he have a presence!

Are you using any of the light-up functions? I'm still trying to figure out the size batteries to use.
How steady is he combined? Joints are tight? Poseable? I LOVE the look.
Who did you order from? Kind of wondering if mine is coming soon then...

I decided to forgo the lights, I usually leave those out unless it comes with batteries already.
Combined is mostly stable? the Skydive leg is a bit of an issue, as the chest gets in the way of the connection a bit. also, the feet are hard as balls to get attached at all points. But I have no fear of the arms having issues, those shoulder slots are good and tight.
Posing is a bit limited, he can only get maybe 2 clicks of knee bend, but the rest of him can move pretty solidly.
I ended up getting Silverbolt and Air Raid from Chosen Prime, and I got Firefly from Show-Z. Kinda wish I had used them for all the releases, I saved $40 alone on Firefly through them.
