Last time I can remember getting upset & bawling was after I had a very realistic dream where my daughter was being taken away from me because social sevices thought that I was abusing her sexually due to a couple of behavioral quirks she had at the time.

One thing that really sets me off like that is when people tell me I'm a bad father.

You have a lot of growing up to do if you really subscribe to this nonsense..

Men have feelings and express them.. Sorry but it happens in reality. Deal with it.

Why do some men keep it inside? Fear. They feel if they express emotion it shows weakness and men are not supposed to show weakness and that is bullshit. NO one should be scared to show their emotions because of what other guys (or anyone else for that matter) will think of them.

Quick story, I was in my junior year of high school, a GF whom I had deep feelings for and I broke up. While in the park after school some guy got in my face and told me I was a pussy for crying..

Guys can show emotion and be tough as well.

Did I say we can't cry? I did not.

No but you mentioned this "man rule" which I have never heard of..
And if you re-read my reply the portion geared towards this part of the rule
No matter the circumstances, talking about how a fellow man is feeling is strictly prohibited.

is

Men have feelings and express them..

Which we do, we express our feelings to our friends. I have a couple of really good friends which I have known for almost 20 years, and we share all kinds of feelings with each other.
If someone is bummed out I go there or they come here, we sit back with a cold one and discuss what is the problem and any possible solutions.

Well I will say that I understand about crying in private. After my boyfriend died, it seemed that everyone else started going on with their lives and weren't crying anymore (for a couple weeks after it happened, EVERYONE was crying all the time). For many, many months, I'd put on some sad music and cry (ok, sob) and would feel better, pick myself up, and go on. Sometimes I wonder if that's what they were doing, too.

People go on with their lives but sometimes still mourn the loss of others. It could be a song that brings back a memory or a silly phrase..
I have an ex co-worker that lost his infant daughter 6 years ago, he still occasionally cries to this day even though he has 2 more kids since her death. He has told me that there is a little "empty piece" inside and he misses her.

I will admit that sometimes when I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders I watch a sad movie or listen to a sad song, get the tears out (my own personal pity party) then pick myself up and move on. Sometimes a good cry is a good stress reliever too.

I'd much rather have a cry when I'm on my own and get over something, than keep things bottled up and let them drag me down.

Back when I was 15, I acted like a bad ass and a hard knock because I went to the gym and lifted weights. There was this girl, a year older in my secondary school I had a crush on, and she led me, I thought. Anyway, she acted very sweet to her classmate, which made me insanely jealous, so I one day confronted him as he was about to go into one of his classes. I nailed him, and I got kicked out of school since the school didn't want to deal with me because they were scared of me, being as big and strong as I was.

The morale of the story is, I was being all macho about the issue, and didn't talk about it, or just let my feelings out. I ended up having to be home schooled for the rest of my academic life. These days, I think I'd just be a bit emotional about it in private, be mature and move on.
