E. Mirage, Sharkticon or C. Sideways?

Postby Diem » Sat May 15, 2010 9:29 pm

I'm thinking of getting either Energon Mirage, Energon Sharkticon or Cybertron Sideways (or to be more accurate, Shockfleet, Noisemaze or...um...Sharkticon). I was wondering what are your thoughts on the figures and which do you think is best of the three?

NB. While I like the Botcon repaints and Noisemaze Mass-Production I'm not willing to lay that kind of money on these figures.

Motto: "The only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance."
I don't have E-Mirage or his awesomesauce repaint Dreadwing (I want him bad), but I can tell that between Noise Maze and Sharkticon, I prefer the latter because he's unique.

It's true that Noise Maze looks cooler, but he's somewhat complicated to transform with the many panels. Plus, the hip joints on mine aren't as tight as I want them to be. Anybody know if C-Sideways' are any better? The faction switch gimmick is nice (I'm a sucker for those).
Sharkticon may look like a shark, but he's actually a shark shaped warship, with design cues from the Decepticon ship Nemesis (as seen in Beast Wars). Transformation is straightforward, robot mode is pleasing despite the "backpack", but the downside is, for you at least Diem, he's US only like Slugslinger (known as Storm Jet over there), so expect to pay a bigger premium for him.
When I look at Shockfleet, I think shellformer. He does have Gundam inspired detail in the legs...
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl

I couldn't find the others (they were both in the store last week) so I got Shockfleet. He's pretty cool but not super-special-awesome. Noisemaze, like Wheeljack, only got a limited release here so Noisemaze is often very expensive if and when I see him. I saw the Springer-Ratbat set for a not entirely tragic price but the character of Springer annoys me (I guess I could've resold him) and I don't like that Ratbat has a stupid made-up Ultracon symbol instead of an Autobot one.

Being an X-designated figure I can understand why. Still, too bad you missed out on the other two figures. How tight is the flip-up missile rack on Shockfleet? Do they aim forward?

The missile rack is good but the flip-out hinged wing on his left arm is a little loose. Not loose enough that I'd start applying lady products to it though.

I will say that my Sideways hip joints were loose right out of the package. A good figure, but I have to agree with JelZe GoldRabbit and say that if you have the chance pick up Sharkticon. He is one of my favorite deluxes from a design aesthetic.
