Re: Encore?
Wow, some awesome ideas. I too would love to get a Sixshot, Scramble City figures, Headmasters. I found Sixshot boxed for $100 in Liberty, Akihabara but decided to wait to get my hands (box wasn't in great condition & a couple of accessories missing) on a brand new one if/when he gets reissued. Ditto Predaking and Devastator who were both going at $200 but in same condition as Sixshot.
I just hope that for Encore and the next line, they stop rereleasing figures that we've already had reissued in the last few lines. For example Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Jazz, Soundwave & cassettes, Now please don't get me wrong, these guys are all on my all time favourites list of and G1 toys that I love (even Megatron who I found in Toys R' Us when he was reissued as an Encore and after a 15 year hiatus I started collecting Transformers again as a result) and are essential for any collection. However the Transformers Commemorative/Collection and Encore series both included a list of these usual suspects that I think we need a break from for 5 years at least to keep the idea of these G1 reissues fresh. Yes, they're the most popular characters/biggest money spinners but they already have our attention with this great chance to get toys we missed out on when we were young and there are plenty of other popular characters that us fans would love to get our hands on.
Hope they continue the kind of choices that keep us guessing as they did with the Encore choices after the first year; rarer cassettes, Sky lynx, Metroplex, Omega Supreme, Bruticus (was pleased to see they were still willing to rerelease combiners), Trailbreaker & Hoist etc.
Predaking would be another great choice.

Predaking or Menasor for the Combiners, or Devastator. Defensor or Computron would be good choices, but I wouldn't be too bothered about Superion.
How about Trypticon to compliment Metroplex?
And surely the only 4 G1 cassettes that haven't been re-issued should be done to complete the set. (I may just hold off buying original G1 cassette gestalts from Ebay until we hear more).
As for single figures, Targetmaster Blurr, Scourge or Cyclonus would be fab, but most of all Springer.

Encore went from a weak, somewhat disapproved of set of reissues to a genuine collector line in a year.
Sky Lynx was a bit of a stumble, yes, but hell, even BBTS is sold out of Bruticus.

Though I'm still waiting for a Blitzwing. We haven't seen him since the Bookstyle re-issue.
Habsro didn't even re-issue him in their TRU Commemorative series. And since Takara did re-issue him we know there's a mold.
I'd love to see Menasor, or Devastator re-issued. but I guess Predaking is a good place to start. What would he retail for: $100 bucks?
As for Blitzwing, there is also the eHobby OVercharge and there was a KO of him floating around about a year ago, like one of those Easter basket KOs, so there isn't really a reason why we couldn't get Blitzwing. I am also surprised that TRU didnt reissue him, and I'm always getting dirty looks for saying things like Takara/TRU shouldn't just keep reiussuing the same 5-7 figures every few years. Like Jazz, TFC did it, TRU did it, Encore did it. Trailbreaker was a nice surprise, Hoist not so much because TRU/TFC did him. Coneheads would be nice, and different despite the TRU Dirge, maybe put them in a set like the Encore TC/SW release.
Oh, Predaking? Hell yes. Hell. Yes.

I don't get why Sky Lynx didn't sell so well. A figure who appeared in the actual cartoon and everything, finally getting released in Japan?
I'd love to see...well anything that hasn't been re-released or redecoed already since the nineties.

STAR SABER!! If that happened I'd wet my pants. And then have a meltdown if they decided not to release Victory Leo.
I would also like Sixshot.
And any of the other G1 figures I haven't been lucky enough to get yet.

We can all hope for some encore releases on some if not most of the "Takara" reissues. But one thing I know for sure is the cost of those damn Predaking's keep going up and up. In a few months they should reach $1000 bux!! So c'mon Predacons!!

I want Encore Liokaiser. I could stop collecting after getting a complete Liokaiser, but I probably wouldn't stop. Although with my grail out of the way I might not need to mainline or freebase Transformers to feed my addiction anymore.

It's best to assume every link I post is NSFW, and every post I make is just me taking the piss.

Personally, I hope they never reissue the grail-y stuff like dinocasettes, Metrotitan, Greatshot, etc.
A toy shouldn't be reissued just because it's expensive or hard to find. Especially repaints.

Oh ho! Look who has been spoiled so badly he doesn't even know what he's saying anymore!
Look, before the first wave of reissues started hitting around, you know, the turn of the century (2000, but 'turn of the century' sounds so dramatic), EVERY G1 toy had stupid pricing on it. 85% complete G1 Starscream? $80.
Megatron with play-wear? $200.
So, don't go giving me this bull-crap about what should or shouldn't be reissued due to collector demand. If anything, those bizzare and strange G1 Japanese toys that never saw Western shelves should have at least a shot at being available to a hungry audience for one time in their miserable plastic lives.

I've gotten most of my major grails already, and I don't think the addiction ever stops. It's nice not thinking about all the big expensive TFs you still need to find though.

CP, I have *ZERO* toys from after Headmasters, except for God Ginrai reissue. Yet one day I too plan to cradle a MISB Greatshot in my loving arms before opening it. I want to scrimp and save and pull my hair out looking for one I can just barely afford. I want to feel the thrill of the chase when I do start to look for one, and that mix of emotions from despair to hope to unbridled joy. I think some things should remain special, for whatever reason they are special. Some things should remain legends, the pot o' gold at rainbow's end. Even butt-ugly dinocassettes whose only claim to fame is that there are 78 of them in the world.

Personally,I don't wish for figures in the Reissues to make a comeback in Encore.Yeah,a die-cast Predaking would be thrilling than the Reissue, but alas,it is still the same thing that transform on n on n on.Dollars wise,I'm contented with having one figure and that's it.
Anyway,I guess most guys here take economical issues as a trivial one (unlike budget-strained fella like me :< ) Hey,perhaps I would buy 3 sets of Predaking too if I have the bucks - 1 original 80's,1 reissue, 1 encore..err,would I
ANYWAY...what I would wish for in the coming Encore..
Menasor
Abominus (does this guy suppose to make a comeback in Reissue? Thought I saw his photo in Astrotrain's Takara box)
OVERLORD..!!

I recently bought G1 Strafe and Afterburner on eBay, and ultimately I paid a lot and went through a lot of trouble (and still haven't yet recieved them). And yeah, I'm a huge fan of bargain hunting, searching for gold and then grabbing the big prize. And maybe one day I'll try to hunt down the other Technobots, and the anticipation might be thrilling as I search for that last fist or pistol. But do you know what I'd rather be doing? OPENING A CLEAN, SHINY-BOXED, $80 FRESHLY MOLDED ENCORE COMPUTRON. Sure, I might not feel the same emotional highs and lows getting there, but I'm cold-hearted enough to get over that if I had my SHINY NEW COMPUTRON.

Hey, I'm all for Scramble City gestalts getting Encore'd - every single one of them. In fact, every character that was in the US cartoon and up until Headmasters should be fair game. Computron isn't anywhere near obscure.

Yep. Who wants to go through all that cost and trouble when they could get the same toy, but shinier and newer, for cheaper? I'd still be just as excited about it, myself.

Re: Encore?
I totally agree. When I started collecting again 2 years ago I decided to try and build as big an original G1 collection as possible but after one too many figures that truly looked (faded/discoloured plastic+missing parts) and felt (loose joints) all of their 20+ years (the final straw was when I bought a loose G1 Devastator I was crushed to find he was loose and had difficulty in keeping all his arms and legs etc in place).
Since that day I have given up on trying to scour Ebay etc for guns/fists/missiles/tech specs/instructions and old G1 favourites that I always wanted when I was too young to afford them and have decided to focus solely on buying re-issued G1 toys. I've bought every different figure from the Transformers Collection, Commemorative & Encore series (no $ wasted on doubles though,) and am going to continue to do this as it costs much less and they've already re-released 25% of the figures that I wanted to get.
If you enjoy looking for those accessories/rare figures then good luck to you, there is such a buzz when you find what you're looking for, I've tried it and it was fun until I saw how much money you can spend trying to do it! I've decided to sell every original G1 figure I collected with the exception of my 100% complete+mint Shockwave, Sharkticon Gnaw, Wheeljack, the Dinobots, Sunstreaker, Scorponok, Cyclonus & Scourge as they've re-issued almost all the others I have and having them brand new, boxed and complete is way better for me.
As for 'Holy Grails', worry not. We are extremely lucky at this point in time as due in a large part to the new Transformers movies bringing our favourites back to the mainstream, we are getting all these G1 classic figures in stores again. But this won't last forever and they can't re-release everything from back in the days, let alone half the figures on our wishlists (I still haven't given up on Devastator tho...). There are so many toys that will never be re-issued so there will always be fun to be had hunting for these if there's one/loads that you want/need.
Bring on Predaking next!!

Re: Encore?
Oh and as it now looks like they are going to add Predaking and Sixshot as Encore's 20 & 21 I think I'll put my money on the final cassettes box set and Sideswipe (because he was in the movie & they can do an E-Hobby silver re-paint) as the final addition to the line before they launch the next one. Would love it if they just continued with Encore though up to 30 or 40 because it's been awesome!
