And yeah, rumor has that the ol' Diaclone Dinobot molds are lost/unusable. You wanna' shiny, new, "real" evolution pack that goes back to the beginning, you'll have to ask yourself if those exact-repro knock-offs really do strike you as more hideous in principle than the actual appearance of those Energon molds and the above pic, nice and official though they are.

Look at it, energon grimlocks literally comming appart in package. Knowing how fickle the figure is id be shocked to see one in the stores that hasn't reduced to a scramble of parts.

Man, talk about nostalgia. I was like...12-ish when Energon Grimmy came out. I still have it, though I took his head for my custom Soundwave. He was cool back then...these days, he's pretty derpy.

So, speculation time;
Bumblebee will be Classics and AoE
Optimus will be the deluxe classics
I'm willing to bet Swoop will be the other Energon Dinobot
As for Slag, I've got nothing.

For Slug's sordid past, I'll guess they dust off the Guiledart mold yet again. None of its past uses ever had "Slag" on the package, but his deco got more G1-ish each time he was rereleased as Triceradon, so they can pretend it's been Slagged before.

Features Corpsemaster dino mode, and Puppetmaster robot mode!

Now that I think about it, they'll never have a better excuse to repaint as many Beast Wars Neo molds as are still usable than this upcomimg movie. I wants me a stateside Killer Punch, and an Archeopteryx with some dramatically different plumage, dangit!

Say what you want about the actual figures, but I'll tell you what, at least the art for the G1 Grimlock looks like its mouth can actually close shut.

Oh, man, this two pack. I have Energon Grimmy and he's just terrible. Easily the worst Grimlock mould ever. I guess that wanted to have another Dino in Swoop, but still. Neither is very good.

I enjoyed Energon Grimmy when he came out. Still have him; don't need this, but I am curious to see what they do with Swoop for a deco. the Energon version was an odd color.

Better that this is done by Hasbro themselves rather than the Club, who had to ask for Big Convoy and Dirgegun, since Hasbro ought to have better direct access to their older molds than their affiliates would.

So, yeah, a chance.

i REALLY wish the G1 dinobot molds were available for these. energon grimlock is horrific. energon swoop is pretty cool, i'm excited to see what that looks like.. i hope they use the blue and grey scheme from the cartoons rather than the red and grey from the toy. also.. i really wish they called strafe swoop instead.. i seriously don't understand that. it makes zero sense to me.

also, i wish hasbro would just nut up and give us new G1 updated molds of grimlock, swoop, prime, and slag.. they're LONG overdue and i think they'd certainly sell much better than these repaints will.
