Now this is a blast from the past, though it's actually a discovery for me as I had no idea these existed.

For those who may be a little young, Esso would be better known today as Mobil. And if you don't know who that is, they create that petroleum stuff that powers your car.

(Hotlinking from E-Bay so hopefully it displays for you)

The seller has a bunch of card backs for some other transforming non-transformer lines.

As a kid I actually had this guy, no idea what happened to him, probably got thrown out in between those years of being a kid and becoming a collector.

So anyone have/had any of those Esso guys in their collections?

Oh hey, I totally had Command Van! Picked him up at a car boot sale years ago, had no idea what he was until just now.

And now you know you have some obscure, possibly hard to find figure!

I wouldn't mind a complete set, simply because it's "ESSO", that brand hasn't been around for a while, and they were one of those corporate tie-ins you just don't seem to find these days.
(Like the "Kentucky Fried Chicken Colonel's Christmas Album" I saw at a garage sale a few weeks ago)
-edit-
My bad, Esso is still used overseas, just not so much in Australia

Another fine example of a company wanting a piece of the transforming robot toy cake. And what you may not know, is that they were imported from Japan like most. In this case they were from the Change Robo and Magic Robo lines by Maruka (not Mark from Convertors fame).

And I remember Esso quite well, though it mostly disappeared from the Netherlands. I don't think Europe got that promotion tho.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
