I have makeshift and a few other minicons from family dollar; he's by far my favorite from that batch. I put him on Hotshot's shoulder.

Not ashamed to say it, either. Sometimes a figure just sucks and it does say satisfaction guaranteed, on the wall.
Who am I to argue with it?
I'm not going to waste good money on an item I'm not going to use that often, if at all. They'll repack it and someone else will buy it later, so it's really no loss.

If it's not defective, I don't see why a store should even take it back from you after you've opened and played with it.

I generally agree with you. However, there have been many times I didn't think I'd like a certain figure but bought it anyway. A lot of the times those figures I didn't think I would like in the first place became my favorite figures from that line. So it's kind of a toss up.

This. If it is broken or defective then by all means return it. Nobody has any business returning a figure just because of buyers remorse. If you are not sure about a figure do your research. I have never bought a figure that I didn't enjoy.

You don't have the right to say such things. Everyone is entitled to do what they want as long as it follows the rules. The stores have a return policy for many reasons and one of those is satsfaction guaranteed.
Not everyone has to live by the code you do. You have no right to dictate your personal feelings as though they were rules, to everyone else.
That's not how it works, and you're just going to have to deal with it. Plus it only affects you if you let it. You don't have to buy a returned figure. Grab a sealed one or go elsewhere.
The only person making this a big deal for you is you. I see plenty of people buy used TFs all the time, That's what collecors do all the time. Why would buying a returned figure be any different?
What about a kid who doesn't like it, or it was a gift they don't want, or the parents can't even transform it?
Your answer might be great for you, but it's not a rule, no it shouldn't be, and it's not the end of the world if people don't see things as you do.
Oh, and not every kid or parent watches or reads online reviews, so that doesn't flt either. And you can't go and change what you've said now. You can't have your cake and eat it too, on this one.

You lost this case.

It's TOTALLY different if the store or Hasbro goes, re-seals the figure and sells it to you as if it was new. These are not different than swapping the toy. In either case, you don't get a fresh, new figure nobody ever played with before you, so you were cheated.
In case of used toys, you know it was used, and possibly bought it cheaper than a Sealed figure, because both you, and the seller knew that the "Ius Primae Open" was lost.

The only time I've regretted buying toys was when I was young.
Thing is, even as a kid I always figured, you open it, you need to keep it.
Pretty much everything I get now I enjoy on some level. Even universe galvatron. He's a turd of a figure, but, if you dont touch him, he looks decent. However, with badly made he is, I could see anyone returning him.
A few times I've returned toys before opening them though.

I almost always research but sometimes figures still disappoint. Voyager RotF Starscream seemed so utterly awful and badly designed and had to return him.

Other than that, I only remember it if something broke or was defective or something like that. But I wouldn't totally rule it out either.

As for returning a Transformer based on disappointment? I brought back Huffer once. He just seemed so sad once I unpackaged him. He'd mope around, obviously didn't enjoy my company. Just sit at the window all day. Wouldn't touch his Energon. What could I do?

Reviews are usually based on someone else's opinion. Not the same as actually having a toy in hand and judging it for yourself. Besides, in cases like mine a review wouldn't have helped me avoid the QC issues.
