That head is a huge shocker and a major disappointment for something coming from FansProject. It's not enough to make me cancel my preorder, but still annoying. On the otherhand, the face is a lot better looking than the preview pictures.
I'm really impressed how good all three Rodimuses/Rodimusi look in the armour. I was lucky enough to pick up a Henkei Rodimus off ebay for only £33. That was a real coup. Seriously can't wait for this one now.
Anyone know where Seibertron got the clasped hands for the hand shake shots?

That's not what illusive means.
Illusive means slippery or difficult to catch.

Also, being slippery could be "Eel-usive"?
Oh and Protector...It looks ok with Not A KO Hot Rod from the 2/3pack but after seeing the awesome comparison pics I really do kinda wish I had a Classics Rodimus.

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.

Skyfire-5 wrote:I've been a solid proponent of FansProject. Its really tough for me to say it, but the head design is really a downer. They're usually on point with the details. Considering the engineering aptitude of these guys, how could such a major aesthetic flaw be overlooked (edit: the base figure's head visibility in combined mode). A simple small piece of plastic with a hinge at the bottom of the face sculpt could have done wonders for the set - something I hope Shadow Scyther remedies. It's an awesome set, no doubt. But what a glaring flaw. Kills me. I'm buying it, but it would have been nice to not have to buy an upgrade to the upgrade like the missile launchers add on set. Sigh... oh well.
Did you watch Vangelus's review of Protector? It gives more insight into the head design.

PM me if you have Battle Tanker original head and/or Car Robots Black Convoy sword(pointy version) for sale

Yeah I guess my bad spelling was showing.
But after "Causailty," I think it's best to go with what we think they meant.

The head doesn't seem so bad. It's being a neck now. It's definately something I'm not used to seeing, but I think it'll grow on me once I have it in-hand. Like City Commander's face.
Rodimus was never meant to have add-ons in the first place. I think the overall effect of the set is very effective.

Naw, don't be too hard on yourself. Turns out "illusive" is an actual word, so it's not technically a mis-spelling. But it does indeed change the meaning of the phrase.

Besides, I like having fun at the expense of bad translations. I'm sure if I tried to write something in Japanese that it'd come out something like "I like to have carnal relations with small shellfish".

Bravo FansProject. Yet again, another amazing add on. Personally, I think people are harder on this set because FP has spoiled us with their own figures in the past two releases (Defender, Explorer, and Munitioner). This set has the same flaws as City Commander, Hasbro. The head on a head is rather strange, but looking at the Hot Rod figure, there isn't much else that could have been done. I think Protector looks excellent for what the set is, an add-on.

Several times before Seibertron's pictorial review. And the Adam's apple is a great excuse. But this is Fansproject. The ones who took ROTF Bruticus and made him Classics Bruticus. Yes, his head doubles as a neck and a vertical swivel point. Great concept, but the execution doesn't deliver with FansProject signature panache. I would go into further detail, but you all get the point. If the head is seen, the illusion of combined mode is broken. If I seem nitpicky, it's only because of the standard that has been set by FansProject's previous releases. I'm a fan of the Project.
I would assume the passing-of-the-torch/handshake add on is an initial wave release exclusive (as no mention of it is given in the preorder ads - perhaps an incentive bonus for those that preordered - at least I'm hoping).

I was wondering that myself. Probably a previously-unmentioned bonus piece?
This gallery is a unexpected and welcome surprise. I'm looking forward to getting the set, even though it comes at the worst possible time.

It's a lot less noticeable when you have it in person and are looking at it casually and not nitpicking it via high quality close up photos.

I was surprised how the color of the Fansproject Protector armor didnt clash as bad as I thought they would with the 3 pack Rodimus. But your gallery made it look so good I ordered a Protector kit. You sold me on it. Thanks Ryan

Ryan's showed us the visitor figures a couple of times and yes, we're most definitely around.
Forum goers however ... we seem few and far between, but we do have a sightings page!.
I'm probably the most notorious of the convicts here, second would be Elita-1.
As for the rest of them, I swear they hide or are just too ashamed to admit being in the same country as me.
Now if you're after some of these 3rd party projects, most of the guys from OzFormers tend to hit up Robotkingdom. Never used them myself but I think they're Asian based and that saves us on shipping.
