Evening folks.. hope you all had a nice christmas

Whilst visiting my mother over christmas I came across something I drew last year, and remembered how chuffed with how it came out on paper

Only thing I will mention is that the black/dark grey on the armour was a little darker.. and for some reason has come out abit lighter when ive scanned it.. some of it looks abit odd on full size.. but im sure you can all get what i was going for..

some day ill probably come back and revisit this

anyway.. for your viewing pleasure..

yeah ive started.....The Classics Optimus Prime...the two pack version that came with the g2 megatron homage. And i work with automotive paints...so he will be shiny! ill post a pic when im done

Ok should i use Chrome or bright silver metallic?...small flake of course. Ive found the perfect purple..but im not sure on the look you were looking for on the metal pieces.

To be honest when I imagined it, the silver on the deco if anything to be quite dark, but bright enough to be easily seen against the black.. End of the day though Grimpoo, its your custom, so you run with what you think works

Im sure the end result will come out awesome either way.

I work in an automotive paint store...i can make or aquire any color you could possibly imagine. But ill stick with a light charcoal color. Itll turn out bad ass! Now my biggest concern is...should i clear or leave it flat. And its only right to do a piece and ask the creator what they think should be used.

Thats very thoughtful of you Grimpoo, Im still quite flattered that your making it!

When you say clear or flat do you mean like a varnish coat? matt or gloss?.. I would say gloss if its big enough.. if your only using a smaller mold though it might be an idea to leave it flat, that said im only drawing from personal experience with varnish.

If your in doubt at any point, just refer to what Ive drawn there -points-.. only thing I will say I think is kind of important is the scar through the right eye.. theres no big story behind it, simply put, scars are cool

Im looking forward to seeing your completed work Grimpoo, any idea when itll be finished?

Varnish eh? no man thats for wood...I use superDUPER Urethane Clearcoat (whats on automobiles)and its glossy as it gets. My sig shows the order of my projects...not to far till im done :grin:
