Fan comic preview

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

Fan comic preview

IDK if anyone will like this, since it's a radical departure from the standard TF story, but here are the first 5 pages of my fan web-comic (originally made for my MySpace page), "Transformers: Hardboiled."

Part one centers around Bumblebee's chance encounter with a prostitute who happens to work for a mob boss who is trading government technology to Megatron for Cybertronian weapons.

When my PC crashed in late June, I lost my next several completed pages and my original working script. I've gotten my script pieced back together and I am working on re-coloring the pages.

Here are some previews:

That is...very different. Definitely not kiddie stuff! But I can't say I wasn't entertained. So good stuff.

So far, its looking great. Easy on the eyes, nice colors, nice details.. Yeah, I'll probably follow this one. Looks promising. Good job.

Thanks, guys. Definitely not for kids, I know. I wanted to do something unlike the millon and one other fan fics (which usually center around explaining how X character died between Season 1 and the movie). This story has no continuity, really. I just used whoever the heck I wanted. Expect Grimlock, Impactor, Twin Twist, Laserbeak and Ratbat in the future. Doubtful if I'll use Optimus Prime (as he is a bit of a cliche), but Megatron was an absolute must.

I'm actually retooling these pages a bit, namely Bumblebee's transformation sequence, which looks REALLY amatuer to me. I think I'm gonna go for something more anime style.

IDK if anyone noticed, but I tossed in a nod to "War Within Vol. 1", as well as a visual homage to Classics Rodimus.

I've kind of drawn myself into a corner with the detailed robot designs. I can't keep the damn proportions consistant! They shift around worse than Soundwave's tapes. I might adopt a more streamlined, Geoff Senior type style when I finish this issue. IDK. Cross that bridge when I get to it.

This is really cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with it.

You can still keep the details without losing the proportions. Little tip: don't draw your details first. Lay out the figures roughly first, getting the relative proportions worked out; then you can flesh it out and add the details. Win/win!

Thanks. I guess I'm more used to drawing humans than mecha. I'm also in the habit of fleshing out my rough pencil drawings with ink and brush -- a style that works fine with stylized humans but NOT (as I've discovered) with Mecha.

I rushed these pages way too fast. Also, I have no money and have to use computer paper which doesn't allow for very much erasing without tearing up the paper or fading the ink.

Don't be hard on yourself. It turned out quite well. Better than I could probably do at the moment...ok, definitely better. And yeah, humans are SOOOO much easier than mechs.
