I see FP or another 3P doing correct head decos and maybe releasing in a group package to gain that extra profit....maybe head robots will do a variant that's interchangeable.

While I always welcome any new rendition of the old 'masters' I do have to agree with my brother that this is lacking the usual Fansproject flare. He looks fairly drab next to previous FP figs, and not just because of his colors, he just lacks much detail, and quite frankly he looks so close to his "Not" counterpart in general design compared to the warbots. I definitely want him since he'll be an excellent addition to my miniscule neo-g1 master force(pun intended), but with all the other stuff I missed out on and am in need of saving up for, this will have to sit near the bottom of the list.

I think he looks fantastic. Heck, I almost missed out on this guy. I didn't even know much about him until it was too late.

...then people started canceling their preorders. I nabbed one of those suckers and he'll be in stock at BBTS today! I can't wait for them to ship mine. I'll gladly put that sucker in my collection. (Which surprises me since Steelcore and Broadside did nothing for me and I've not purchased them.)

Here's some food for thought... $20.00 of the price went to Toys For Tots. BBTS has already donated the toys, so the $20.00 for each figure is basically just bringing them out of the red and back to a zero balance into the black. I doubt they're making much of a profit, if any.

When you think about it, you're paying $48.99 for a FansProject large Deluxe/small Voyager Class figure. Warbot Defender set me back like $90.00, and the Bruticus limb set figures were $50.00 with or without accessories. This guy is TWO TFs in one, plus accessories and size. He's almost the size of Masterpiece Sideswipe, and probably has the same complexity if not more.

You're getting all that for less than $50.00 bucks. In the past, if FP offered something like this, we'd have jumped at it for $100.00 and never said a word! Plus, in the end, you helped kids and a charity. I fail to see the fail here.

I'll gladly take my Chromedome and place him in my collection.

Agreed. I hope the whole line up looks straight up G1. I love everything Fansproject makes, and I think this may top Steelcore just because it is an actual character. I dont have Assualter in hand yet. Alot of people on here complain about "aesthetics" (the most overused word on this website) I personally wish Fansproject Defender looked more like G1 Springer and less like a "Warbot". Hows that for aesthetics ?

I think the logic in there is kinda messed. The $20 donation simply comes from FP's cut of the profits. Which means that it isn't a $50 figure with a $20 donation; it's simply a $70 figure where $20 goes to a charity.

I like it well enough to keep my preorder. But I think Reprolabels will come out with a set to make it nicer.

Everything FP is doing lately seems to have more of an IDW look to it than an actual G1 look. I'm not a big fan of it myself, though the upcoming Stunticons do look excellent. I'm skipping the Headmasters though.
