Yes, it's been so long. Yes, the retail version came with both torsos. But (AFAIK since I don't have the retail in hand due to other spending) he's not metallic AND he doesn't come with a little Driver dude.

So, there may still be hope for those still looking towards the stars.

I'm sure it's still on FP's radar. Blue chest or no, there's a world of difference between their metallic paint and chrome. I dunno what's taking them so long, though.

I think the fact that blue swoop is cartoon accurate and more popular really threw a monkey wrench into FPs "diaclone" theme. I didnt even know their tfcon sludge was supposed to be a diaclone homage until the blue slag came out. I was under the impression the the exclusives were the "premium" versions because chrome was not exclusive to diaclone with the vintage 80s toys. Hasbro versions to the G1 toy also sported chrome. In my opinion, FP should have done the extra torso option from the beginning and ditched the chrome. They could have done G2 decos for the con exclusives that would have sold way better. I don't see how they didnt predict the uproar with swoop in advance, but im glad they addressed it for the fans benefit.

Well, people are just assuming that the blue chest means no Diaclone Swoop along with the long wait with no word from FP.

If there's no Diaclone Swoop after TFcon I'd start worrying. Remember, the Diaclone versions were always supposed to be con exclusives.

I would think a diaclone swoop wouldnt make a huge impact at tfcon because the molds day has already come and gone. I wouldnt be suprised if instead they release a diaclone Grimlock that comes with a chrome swoop head and tail to upgrade the retail version yourself. That would actually save the exclusive collectors a few bucks.

Yeah, I kinda doubt collectors would want to have to assemble a whole swoop out of spare parts themselves or that it'd save a lot of money. Then they have a lot of useless junk just lying around. And it'd screw over MISB collectors completely.

TFcon is just around the corner. FP has a real presence there. It makes sense that the next con exclusive from them would be at TF con. Again, these are con exclusives, not store exclusives. If there's no word from FP after TFcon then I'd start worrying.

I dont know what they charge for those exclusives at the con, but aftermarket prices were more than double the regular versions of the other two. 100 bucks seems like a substantial savings to me. As far as MISB collecting, cant help ya there. I always felt toys were meant to be opened and enjoyed. Theyre not antiques, but thats just my opinion. I think releasing a diaclone swoop at this point would actually lose FP money. Lets see what they do this weekend...

Not a fan of that translucent plastic on grims chest. Or his alt mode. Guess I'll stick with the foc version. But dang, I may pick up raptor girl. But I thought the extra one turned into an anklyosaur? According to the silhouette teaser way back when clearly had an ankly tail mace.

I'm not sure if it is translucent. That prototype figure isn't fully detailed and the box art shows that chest piece to be opaque.

The alt mode on the box art looks terrible. The prototype one next to the femdinobot doesn't look as bad but I'm sure the legs are mistransformed. They're pushed right up to the armpits. I'm hoping the alt mode looks better on the proper finished piece.

Im happy with this Grimlock. I mean I hope the legs do go down some in dino mode, but it still looks pretty good. It fits in with the crew much better than FOC Grimmy which was a piece of crap even with upgrades. And Im liking the dino chick. I love her pair of melons. :grin:

And just in case it needed reiterating, this is easily the worst Grimlock T-Rex mode ever. That undersized head, those bloated legs, the EVERYTHING. Jesus, the FOC Grimlock had a better T-Rex mode and that guy was like £20.
