I have a hope, however small it is, that the "cowl" may be able to be folded along the back. I think there is a hinge at the back of the top horizontal piece. And it appears this follows the transformation sequence of my newly acquired DX-9 War in the Pocket "Snarl" in which that exact piece exists, but folds away along the back. So, I have hope. I'm getting him anyway to complete my FP Dinobots...

Heres some older pics of Pinchar that confirm you can lower the back tail section to look more aesthetically pleasing. Im cool with this...

Yeah, I was thinking that prototype at TFNation last year didn't have a hat sticking up, so it must be lowerable. I think FP are just rushing this guy now to get it out before Hasbro's hits and they're mistransforming stuff because of it.

Dammit! I was just transforming my dinobots to dino mode and as i turned raptor girl's foot, there was a loud crack and her foot came off with the ankle stalk snapped off. It's almost like that ball joint seized up. Now I'm not happy.

Ok, I'm really pissed off now. Took Comera's foot apart to inspect it and the ball joint has just completely frozen in place for no reason. The other foot rotates freely still. With a lot of force, I've managed to move the broken peg in the socket, but that hasn't loosened it up. And though I tried to glue it back on, it broke free again when I put her foot back on. I really liked Raptor Girl but she can't even stand up anymore. And I have no idea why her ankle froze up like that.

Same thing happened to me this weekend. In the excitement of Pinchar finally coming, I bought the Bonehead Dino chick and preordered the raptor. I transformed her one time to dino mode and the left foot snapped right off. And I was super careful after reading about your experience. Its an engineering fail on the part of Fansproject. I cancelled the raptor preorder and am in the process of getting store credit for the bad figure. I'm still going to take my chances with Pinchar to complete the set. The first four had no issues. But the raptor twins are out the picture for me. I wouldn't buy these two unless youre a customizer who knows how to re-enforce the ankles with something metal.

Thing is, I've had her since she was released. Most of this year. Transformed matbe 5 times. Posed lots of times. Both feet moved freely. That's why i didn't think there was an issue until i heard tge crack. I've managed to get tge foot glued on and she's on her stand on one foot with the broken one just off the ground so she can still join her team, but she will always have raptor feet in robot mode now.

Damn that sucks. I just decided that having the twins wasn't meant to be. Unless they do a 2nd run with a documented fix. But in all honestly, I was disappointed the dino mode was as tall as Severo's T-Rex mode.

So apparently Diaclone Snarl is available right from FP themselves, and momentarily at a discount.

ALSO. APPARENTLY. Diaclone Grimlock is available there too??! Has this @#$%^&*! been there the the whole time I've been desperately searching? Sigh. Ordered both.

Now that I've got all 5, I can safely say that Snarl is unfortunately the weakest one. In dino mode, he does not stay together well. His front splits from his back quite easily as there's only two small tabs to do the job, and there's a lot of plastic it has to hold together. Also, he's not much more posable than his G1 self. His rear legs are good, but his front legs are pretty limited in their range. The tail doesn't move much (but is more forgivable), and other than an opening mouth, the head/neck doesn't move at all.

Robot mode is better, but still has some issues. His feet, while being big, are awkward. the front dino legs fit inside, but not clicking in any solid place which makes his heel ambiguous and sort of unstable. The platform his head sits on doesn't seem to click in anywhere solid, making it something of an MP Tracks situation. And then there's the backpack. That spine piece can indeed be set out of eyesight, but not as cleanly as I'd like. It can tuck between the split tail pieces, but it's a solid hook of a piece so it has to stick out like that. It's unfortunate because all it woulda took is one additional hinge to make it flush.

He's by no means a bad figure, just, he's got some flaws.

Pinchar (red version) just hit my POL at BBTS. I'm waiting on the 4 limb Voltron (classic) lions to arrive and I'll be shipping my POL out. I cannot wait for Pinchar and PotP Rodimus.... I just want my Exo-Realm dinobots complete. (Plus, isn't Hasbro retooling Slash into something similar to what FansProject did? I don't recall the name they gave her off the top of my head... :-?

They really do look amazing. I kinda want them but I cant justify double dipping on 5 expensive figures for a little bit of black and blue plus gold plating. Now if they had went with G2 decos instead of Diaclone I would be all in. But ill be happy when I get the my Snarl in original colors and complete the set.

Honestly... I wish I had bought the normal ones, but got sucked in unwittingly with that first one. Slag, being red in G1 and Diaclone, I had no idea that was the directive for the exclusives.

I would however buy another complete set if they were G2 colored. I loves me some G2.

I hear ya on having figures close by, Shaj! That's why pics I take are primarily latest & greatest, since digging a bot up ain't easy.

I guess with there being an official Dinobot Slash, the FansProject incarnation is her "premium" figure.

I haven't had any issues transforming either of mine.
