Maybe it's different in person.
I just don't like armor for the sake of armor. The DX9 kit to upgrade Evasion Prime to God Ginrai - now THAT's a set of armor!

I wonder if we'll get an orange version for BotCon Fire Guts Ginrai. Maybe the red version would be close enough...

I hope they include a Powermaster figure with the trailer if or when they make one - as it stands it looks like a design oversight.
It's shame that the Ultra Magnus head isn't as nice as the Optimus head though especially considering their City Commander head was so flawed too.
The extra chrome and decoration of the 2 pack AOE Now & Then type Voyager Optimus would be a a way to make the armour look a little less dull.
I would speculate the large hands are so they can still work as the hands when it's further upgraded.
It's nice to see FP has final realised non-opening hands are not desirable on a premium product at least.

I prefer non-opening hands as my figures don't shake or give each other high fives often. I like the City Commander head as well. This seems to be a nice evolution of that design. Guess I'm weird...
I'm going to wait until I see the finished product before I make my mind up on these sets. I think they could turn out really well.

The more I see that picture with all the parts removed, the more I hate the concept. Maybe if it all formed a trailer Id like it better. But I just cant get behind the idea of "fully transformable" armor coming from a company like fansproject. Theyre supposed to be the guys that would give us a whole new figure. Maybe if it was Belzeboss or Perfect Effect, I would be a little more supportive. Even Dr. Wu is planning to produce his first figure. This just seems lame considering the cost of prime plus the upgrade could buy you Orion.

This seems to be fansprojects going back to their roots by making a armour For classics Prime (that also fits on Ultra Magnus) where as previously they'd made armour for Ultra Magnus (City Commander) that also fitted on Optimus Prime (Dia Commander).
If they do make a further extension to bulk it up further and add a trailer I will be more interested. I would hope that they also perhaps make sure that the set isn't compromised in it's compatibility with other upgrades... like the G3 Trailer.
It might be nice if someone made an over-arch attachment for the G3 trailer so it can carry shoulder guns well in trailer mode as that would add to the look of truck mode nicely.
Perhaps the bulkyness of the truck mode might actually suit the angled planes of that BTS Trailer though even more.
[EDIT]
RE : Opening hands - the reason why I like them is character who implement that well can hold a broader range of things than just the weapons they come with - especially swords or spears.
But anything really in general. It just gives you options - it also makes things look a little less toy like.

It's the Parallax line X. Armor upgrades & figure add-ons are all that line has ever been.

I for one love addons and upgrades, provided they're intelligently designed and work well. I love my FP Colossus set, aside from the highly questionable QC.

The more I hear about this set & the more I see it, the more interested I get. I think I'll try out the Prime armor at least. If it blows me away, I'll grab the Magnus set too.

Mind NOT changed, this still looks bizarre and weak for a FP release, and more add-ons for this mold is just more frustration over the integrity of the arm panels cracking,
again. Make a new Prime or go home.

If they made an entire figure, it wouldn't be in the Parallax line. They may have one planned out but you won't find it in this line. I'm also sorry to hear about your problems with the classics prime mold. I've luckily never had any problems with the arm panels on any version of that mold.
I'd like to see these iterations of the Prime & Magnus armor's with the first versions. Give us a good side by side to look at.

Perhaps the line is better off abandoned then, as add-ons from that line are designed for long term disappointment. Dead serious, nearly everything I have from them has either self-destructed or caused more damage to the base figure after prolonged time spent with it, with the only exception being the G3 trailer.

I dunno. I must be the exception in this case. I still enjoy add on kits and have been fortunate to not have any problems with the prime kits, Bruticus, Rodimus, or Superion..and that's also through 3 moves. I think it's important to remember that mileage may very from kit to kit as well as from one base figure to the next. I enjoy FP's add ons bc I haven't had any bad experiences. I'm sure if I was in your shoes my opinion might be a little different.
I hope these sets come out without any problems.

Indeed. I hope someone out there likes this. I am usually a staunch defender of FP, putting it in my top three favorite 3P companies (maybe top 4 now) but this thing just looks goofy! I don't get it... This doesn't feel like a good FP release...

Gotta admire FP's stubbornness on this. Most of the feedback that I've seen on this has been negative or neutral at best. And yet despite all that, they trudge onward.

Yeah, I'm a big supporter of FP as well, but this is something I just don't get. It looks like a Lego truck in alt mode and a jumbled up mess in robot mode. Think I'll pass on this one and get the Has/Tak Powermaster instead. Scale be damned.
