This guy is going to cost a mint. But... I think 'm in.
I know there's all sorts of legal issues with JETfire, but is there anything actually stopping TT from making a proper Skyfire? I mean, wasn't Leader Jetfire a bigger slap in Robotech's face than a proper Skyfire would have been?

I just hope this doesn't go the way the last two Skyfire attempts went. Kronos was a total lemon and Sky Guardian was an overcomplicated ugly lump with a Funpub-tier face sculpt.

I think the main reason to get excited about Phoenix here is the name attached to it. FT has a pretty good reputation ;)^

I think this price might simply be reflecting the success the 3rd party market is experiencing. I'm gonna go pre order thus bad boy right now.

It also seems like, maybe due to size, maybe due to smaller official product runs, that the 3P MPs are not so much more expensive in comparison than, say, Classics sized figures.

its the same price for preorder on Tfdirect.com. I like it! it looks G1 accurate, and no side gaps like Kronos. I hope the transformation is good, and QC is tight.. hate poor QC

This is the first FT figure besides Willis that I want to buy, so hope they do it right. I own Wei Jiang both optimus oversized AOE and MP10 KOs, I also own Apollyon 2nd batch ver. Which is amazing. So Willis and Phoenix will be my first FT figures, and if Willis looks as solid as he does in reviews, then I think the amount of coin it's gonna cost for Phoenix will be worth it. I hope I get free shipping tho..

I don't see, in any conceivable way, how an MP Skyfire could be done better than this. I am 100% on board, and will be buying this the day its available. Which says a lot for me and my 3P MP purchasing habits 8-}
