I've never actually seen any of the animated Guyver stuff, but I've seen both of the live-action movies like twenty times each.

I might have never watched anything else if not for it.
I suppose Ninja Scroll is almost equally important.
Gotta agree with you there CP. If it wasn't for a friend in high school lending me Akira and Ninja Scroll I probably never would of discovered anime.

but my favorites are:
Gundam Wing (Deathscythe and Nataku rocked.)
Evangelion (everybody on that show needed therapy.)
and why hasn't there been any love for Full Metal Panic! That's a great show,is there something about a military nut in a high school that doesn't interest you?

Yeah its currently showing in Japan and has already been licenced by ADV for US distribution. Episode 5 of 12 aired there last Thursday and a fansubbed version went up earlier.

What the hell are you talking about FUNimation killing the essence of the anime. Funi haven't butchered an anime in years, keep those kind of remarks for 4kid$. Plus Funi is the only American company whose dvds I can watch without using my region free player as most of their dvds are region 1,2 and 4, hopefully they continue to do so with their Bluray releases.
I will agree though that the manga version is better than the anime most of the time, especially where shonen manga is concerned usually due to the fact that it is the source material rather than an adaptation.

I'm sorry, but have you seen episode 133 of Naruto in its original context? Compare it to the FUNimation version (its fully recorded, but wont be released to TV yet). That was a butcher. And lately, they haven't caused quite as much damage as they used to, but they still edit stuff down WAAAAAAAAAAY too much. If they screw up Shippuuden 1-2 hr. special, I will torture the editing dept.

Or you could just download Dattebayo's excellent fansubs. It's superiour to anything FUNimation or whatnot does.Tybre wrote:sniper_samurai wrote:Tybre wrote:I'm not a big fan of anime. The US licence holder of both the animated version and manga of Naruto is Viz Media, FUNimation has NOTHING to do with ANY aspect of the property. Get your facts straight before you accuse a company of butchering a series, the last series that FUNimation butchered was Dragon Ball GT.

RaXaphon and Ruroni Kenshin are also of note, as is Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed. Akira goes without saying(I wonder what ever happened with the "Tetsuo" sequel), and I almost forgot to mention Berserk.
That's all I can think of right now...
