Favorite figure, and why.

So, I'm simply dedicating this to everyone's favorite figures. Just say which one, and why. It can be a custom for all I care.
Also, feel free to post pics!!

Re: Favorite figure, and why.
G1 Scorponok
One of my first Tf's. The fact that he's still my favourite, 24 years and 900+ Transformers later is a testament to the toy.
He's a headmaster, a triple changer and a base bot. He still towers menacingly over most Transformers as befits his character and size. He can pick up most Transformers in his claws. I always loved his shield weapon.
His scorpion mode is one of the best TF beast modes.
Being a fan of the Marvel series, he was one of my favourite characters. A Decepticon leader who wasn't entirely evil. Lord Zarak was an interesting character as well. I also loved Scorponok's voice in the Ladybird series. Exactly as I imagined it would be when I read the Marvel comics - think Welker's ROTF Soundwave voice.
In the last few years, I acquired Kabaya Highbrow and Brainstorm, Junior Chromedome and WSTF Fortress Maximus. They're all smaller than the original G1 toys but I like the smaller sizes for them and it adds to the drama that Scorponok is so much larger than them, especially Fort Max, whose about deluxe size while the others are scouts. They look better with the Technobots and Terrorcons. I like having Chromedome zip towards Scorponok's base mode, avoiding Sinnertwin and Snapdragon (who also benefits from the Autobots' maller size) while Highbrow evades Cutthroat.
Interestingly, it wasn't until about 5 years ago, upon acquiring Highbrow and seeing the panel flip over his face when Gort's in bot mode did I realise Zarak had such a panel as well. 19 years and I never realised.
As I said at the start, 24 years and I still love him. How many toys can you say that about? A Scout size update of Fasttrack would be nice. Especially since the Japanese fiction depicted Fasttrack as the model for a legion of Seeker type drones. Wipeout got one this year.

Re: Favorite figure, and why.
I've seen enough on-line pics to determine Hexatron will be my favorite TF figure in 2012.
However to be fair & play by the thread rules. i'll pick one figure that is in the present/past & not future.
Takara Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. because He's my all time favorite generation one cartoon character. I also like the MP toy design,it's got great modes, nice sculpt, detailing, proper size scale & decent accessories.

Me, too. And I ended up pointing 5 or 6 of them randomly.

From my childhood, probably Skorponok. As an adult, probably RotF LC Optimus. Both for their posability, complexity, and aesthetics.

Mine is Scorponok, but not G1, Energon
I don't really know what it is about him I just think he's a great toy. My only gripe with him is he could use some better arm articulation.
He's got 3 official modes: robot, jet and scorpion(kind of), as well as fan modes, which are really anything you like. Here are some battle station and Decepticon spire modes:
I also had a walker mode but didn't take any pics of that. His availability of Energon, Superlink, Cybertron and Botcon gave me 4 to hunt down as was stoked when I got the Superlink version, I love the green color on him.
His mini-con ports give him weapon upgrade ability and his natural clear parts are great to pair with other same colored Energon weapons.
For whatever reason I just love me some Energon Scorponok, I just wish they would make a new repaint.

Answer is same as Windsweeper's answer: G1 Scorponok!
I got him relatively late, only about three years ago, and it's a good thing I wasn't aware of him much when I was a kid, 'cause I would have killed to get him back then!
He's got everything good about TF's: he's HUGE, he's a triplechanger, he's a base, he's a headmaster, he's a walking(!) scorpion, he's got a buddy (Fasttrack)... I even like the colors a lot: he just looks evil.
Yup, he's just perfect.

I'm so meta, even this acronym...

G1 Magnus (obviously). I literally fell in love with him the first time I saw him in my local Woolworth's back in 1986. I pestered my Mum for weeks to get him.

My most favorite of all is God Ginrai. Yeah, he's a brick, but there's so much you can do with him! I love very bits of him and even if he's just a reissue, It's my favorite ever.

I do have many more I like, but God Ginrai have that little something above everyone.
