Figures we thought we'd never get...but did.

Point is, we never know exactly where this franchise is gonna take us, and often times we dream of figures we can only hope will be made. Well, sometimes dreams come true, and that figure is made. So, discuss your favorite figures you thought would never get...but did.
My picks:
Energon Arcee: Looking at her right now, and even though it takes some liberites with the original G1 design, for all intents and purposes it is an honest to goodness Arcee figure, coming out nearly 18 years after her original inception. She's a perfect example of what this thread is built around.
Masterpiece, well, anybody: Ok, I'm not a big G1 Prime fan, and I don't collect Masterpiece figures(I only have 20th Anni Movie Prime),but I do understand what this figure represents. A fully articulated near perfect rendition of his cartoon counterpart, complete with great accessories and homages, as well as then fantastic articulation. The other Masterpieces don't quite have the impact of the original, but there presence just proves you never know what's gonna come next.
G1 Reissues: Basically, figures affordable enough to buy to satisfy that part of us that never got that figure growing up, or was barely alive to appreciate it. While not everyone's on the list, Predaking, Sky Lynx, and Omega Supreme surely made someone's month.
The Classics/Universe 2.0 Line: While there are hits and misses, for the most part, it's(mostly) G1 again, and it's all good. An honest to goodness new Astrotrain triple changer, a Jetfire based on an artist's design, a Galvatron that's NOT a repaint of Megatron!? Too much good stuff from this line to even count.
Armada Unicron: Goodness gracious, I almost forgot about him. Unicron for goodness sake! If that's a dream figure a lot of fans thought would never happen, I dont' know what is.
I think that's all for now, discuss!

G1 Arcee: No toy until Energon, and even then it was a "different" Arcee. But wait, what's this? Animated Arcee? With a smaller and more G1-ish head, it'd practically be a PERFECT G1 Arcee!
Unicron: Armada Unicron might not be PERFECT, but it's pretty durn close. Wahooey!
And, really, I never expected to see a toy of The Fallen, even though it wasn't on the top of my list.
The Vector Prime repaint as Alpha Trion was absolutely perfect in my mind, and I now regret that I never got the chance to snag it.
And while they're repaints of G1, we finally got Dion and Orion Pax.
So who's left?
I WANT:
Gimme the Pre-Optimus Primes, please. Prima, Nova Prime, Sentinel Prime (the Animated doesn't count, it's a diff character), and I'll be a happy camper.
Cartoon Nightbird: Actually... no. She's not a transformer, and pretty much any "female" robot painted silver and black with a purple painted face could work. But if she IS released, I'd rather she be ungodly articulated rather than have a goofily assigned transformation. In fact, she shouldn't transform at all.
G1 Devcon: A cool, blue Autobot bounty hunter. Yes, he could be an ehobby repaint of Scourge. But I'd rather he get his own mold. I made a decent mod of Classics Mirage into him, but he just doesn't have the "bulk" feel Devcon needs, even if his alt mode looks spot on.
The Female Autobots: Chromia, Elita-1, Firestar, and Moonracer. ROTF bike girls don't count, because none of them were bikes. Chromia was a blocky car, Elita-1 a sleek pickup truck, Firestar a pickup with a blunt front end (vaguely similar to Kup crossed with Ironhide), and Moonracer a sleek car.
Straxus: The G1 version. Possibly impossible, but I'd still love to see 'em try.
Impactor: This one would be pretty easy to design, and he's a solid character.
There aren't many characters past G1 that never got a toy, come to think of it. After G1, if it didn't have a toy, it didn't get a character, simple as that...

Sure, she's ugly and unorthodox in design, but hey, she's female, and she's an Autobot. How many of us thought there would ever be a figure of her when we were watching "The Search for Alpha Trion" back in the day? Huh?
-sorry Valandar! You must have submitted yours while I was still composing mine. But I still stand on what I said, DESPITE her being a bike.

Yeah. G1 Wheelie was always something I thought was kind of fugly but the Legends revamp makes it look like a neat Minibot.

I'm right there with you on Arcee. One day. I can't believe that we still haven't gotten her yet in Classics/Universe. And I also can't believe that a 3rd party company might give us an Arcee before Hasbro / Takara Tomy.
I was kind of surprised that we got Ironhide and Ratchet as well in the past year, but considering their roles in the live action films, maybe I'm not so surprised.
The figure at the top of my list that I can't believe they made to this day ... Classics/Universe Legends Class Wheelie. Hasbro is well aware of how many fans dislike that character so it surprised me that they did it anyways. I've always liked Wheelie, or at the least I didn't dislike him. Gained a lot of respect for the character after watching the Headmasters series. Also gained even more respect for him after his IDW Spotlight issue. I still think that Hasbro knocked out Wheelie simply to secure the use of his name, but I could easily be wrong about that since they slapped "Autobot" in front of his name on the packaging.
I'm also surprised at a lot of the later G1 homages, and for that matter some of the new G2 homages, that we've been receiving. The Micromasters have been getting some love (Countdown and Erector/Mudflap) both come to mind. And of course, one of my all-time favorite characters is being resurrected in proper form this fall ... Bludgeon!
Some of the GoBot homages have been a nice treat as well. The Crasher as Fracture homage is my favorite because it's the most true color scheme wise. I can't wait to do the galleries of the GoBot figures that have made it over to the Transformers Universe. I own all of the original versions MOSC of the figures that made the switch. Gotta have the originals if they're going to be part of the Transformers toy line.

I've always been surprised at some of the things that we've never received, especially with Beast Wars. Japan got Machkick, couldn't he have been repainted easily into a Zebra? That would've been cool. How about a whale (and not the stupid Microverse Orcha version). A dolphin? A giant bass? A cow (though I guess we did get a bull a few times)? A deer? A pig (though we did get a boar)? An orangutan?
I'm right there wishing we'd get a bus. I thought we'd definitely get one after the first live action film in a 2 pack with Bonecrusher. How about a properly done U.S. Police car? A properly done deluxe class Taxi (though I'm excited about the upcoming Mini-Con)?

That's not a bus Transformer. That's a generic 3rd party robot that transforms into a bus, which is why I pulled that news story from the site a couple of months ago. I'm talking about Hasbro and Takara Tomy Transformers.

Are you a Beast Wars hater? The cartoon series is hands down THE best of all of the Transformers series story-wise. Nothing comes close. Transformers Animated came 25% close. Animation wise, it was more-or-less state-of-the-art computer animation for TV at the time, though it saddens me that it isn't holding up to the test of time as well as cell animation has.
If you haven't watched it from start to finish, you're really missing out.

I admit it, I am! I remember walking down the toy aisles before I started collecting again and seeing them, wondering what the hell they did to Transformers? Of course had they not, there's a decent chance the franchise may have gone the way of the dinosaur...and I don't mean Grimlock. I don't doubt the cartoon was good, although I did see it once or twice and had the same thought from the toy aisle, but I'm hesitant to watch now, get sucked in, and start going after that line, too! Much safer to just remain close minded.

Sorry, I should've been more accurate in my statement.
Yeah, it is 3rd party transforming robot, which is obviously not something that many TF Collectors will consider getting. However it is designed by the same guy that made the Sports Label line, and it's a bus; which hasn't been seen before.
It'll be the first, and most likely only non-Transformer related product I'll get for my shelf.

You should check out BW.The general attitude on the series is that the cartoon is great but the toys aren't the best so I don't think you have to worry about getting sucked into collecting the majority of the toyline.
I disagree. I think there's some great figures that came out of the line. Here's a few highlights that come to mind: Optimus Primal, Tigerhawk, Transmetal Cheetor, Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia, Waspinator/Buzzsaw mold, Transmetal Terrorsaur, Optimal Optimus, Transmetal Megatron, Wolfang ... the list goes on! Some duds too (RETRAX), but hey, not every figure can be perfect.
