why not you know...do a bust of ultra's actual head? i mean that whole "white prime" thing was just for the toy...was never used in the cartoons and i pray it wasnt in comics either..so why make special items about it? lol

No, Hasbro started the trend to repaint EVERY Prime into Magnus for marketing, while DW just did it once for their story. Hasbro has the bigger fault.

It looks like it has cool paint applications at least... but yeah, I'm going to have to agree with most of the posters here. If I have one fanboy complaint, it would be repainting any Optimus related toy white to deem it Ultra Magnus in recent years.

Though I also feel kinda bad feeling that way seeing that I like the current Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker (hopefully soon) repaints.

Hopefully these white Primes stop selling and we actually get the real Ultra Magnus back. It was a cool concept in the comics but it is getting very annoying in toy land. Ultra Magnus is one of my favorite characters and needs to be done justice...

I don't know why they havent made the Masterpiece Ultra Magnus trailer. Have the trailer become the body armor that fits onto the White Prime/Magnus and you got gold (just like G1). I guess I would actually have to buy both those. Come on Takara I am asking you to make me poor here.

Ok i seem to remember magnas lookind diferent the G1 toy was indeed a re paint but they hid it behind a exosuit of sort and a snap on helment with a diferent face so why is this a white prime

First other then the first toy the repaints did not start until after the DW issue. Also we the fans at the time thought it was so cool to finally see Magnus with no armor, look what it got us. Now to think of it maybe we should blame ourselves :-?

the last decent magnus toy to be released was for Energon, and even that was a repaint but at least not of prime. plus everyone wanted him to be UM in the english version anyway

Technically the origanal Magnus was a repaint too (unlike Prime/Convoy which was the same colours as the diaclone version, the diaclone version of the Magnus mold was a completly different colour).
As far as I know the only mold that was truly designed for the charecter (before the titainium one) was the RiD one.

I'll help. Im so sick of this "White Prime is Magnus" bullshit. It was ok the first few times but now its old. I understand that the first Magnus toy was a white prime but he at least had that trailer mech thing and a new head. If they want to keep makeing white primes magnus then at least give hime something diffrent like a trailer that combines with him like G1 or a diffrent head and weapons.
