GOt him the mail. I like that combined mode and I like my TF garish, plus well, it's Impactor. I know that there are problems with the Bruticus toys, but I never expcted that in 30 years of TF's and combiners that the toy woould have a crotchplate sticking out of his ass with no way to hide it, the armdesign is done by an idiot and he gives a new meaning to what it is to be a hollow toy.

Please tell me the others are better. Or should I cut my losses and keep it at a nice looking toy for display?

It gets better. I rather enjoy Roadbuster. But don't expect too much. It is still hollow as hell but has a great head sculpt. Actually Impactor has an awesome head sculpt too but everything else is such a POS. those arms!! I just pose him with my wreckers and never touch him.

Unfortunately, the FoC Combaticons toys(base molds for the FoC Wreckers) are afflicted by issues such as significant hollowness(Swindle's back for example). As a combined form, there are issues, some of which can be remedied by creative fanmoding.

Overall, it seems like many have been able to overlook the design issues with the FoC combiners but only through extra effort on their part to fix some issues. As a ready-to-go toy, the FoC combiners are problematic as far as I've seen.

I just got the whole Ruination set yesterday. Impactor is, by far, the worst of the five, both in bot mode AND alt mode. The others aren't great, but they're all better than Impactor.

The only reason to own any of these, IMO, is to form the combined gestalt. On their own, they're all a bit lacking.

Indeed. Impactor is more hollow than a balloon. And the combiner head just... there, not covered at all. Just plain lazy.

The Onslaught mold is awful as anything other than a torso, there's just no other way to put it.

Swindle and Blast Off are both fantastic (if still plagued by the hollowness and lightness issues that plague the entire set). Vortex is good all around too, though his arms are a tad weird. Brawl is a total shellformer, so if that turns you off, steer clear. He looks nice in all mode, but is a horror to get to stand. :lol:

I just got the whole set today. I actually really like them. They all still have major problems but I really like the colors on them all. The added weapons are also really cool, Impactors weapon looks great on Springer with the missile out. Ruination was actually a very nice remold and I really hope Hasbro does not give up on Gestalts, though it does not seem like we will be getting any new ones for a while.
