I'm new to the forum and have joined to get more knowledge so I can help my son with his collection. He absolutely loves transformers and his last Christmas list contained generation 1 toys, which we found hard to get, we have recently purchased Skullcruncher and Metroplex and have now been offered Fortress Maximus in what has been described as a UK 1999 version, different colours to the G1 version but pretty much mint condition with all the accessories and box. The asking price is £300, is this a good price for a toy that is only 11/12 years old, I would prefer a G1 model but I think they go for a bit more than £300?
Thanks, Dave

Fortress Maximus (to my knowledge) was never released in the UK. If you have a picture of the box and toy, I'm sure I, or any number of fans will help you with what you're being offered.

I can only imagine that would be Brave Maximus. He was available from Takara for the Car Robots line also known as Robots In Disguise in the English speaking territories. Check the link for more info.

I'm unsure what the exchange rate is at this point but that sounds reasonable anymore for that guy. Take note that Brave Max did not widely come with all his G1 accessories. There was a lucky draw for the Asian market that did. Apparently he's very rare, there are very few pictures of the extra accessories and very little info in general about it. It's widely believed to not exist at all. It does though.
Hope that's helpful.

Re: Fortress Maximus 1999 version?
Just checked the link and the toy offered looks just the same with all the parts, dish and gun. Is it worth holding out for a G1 version or is this a fair price?
Thanks for all the help.

It's your call. The G1 version complete will cost you about $1500 if I remember riht. Bear in mind that I have been out of the toy loop for a while, but that was average pricing for him for quite some time.
My question now is, what did your kid do to deserve a Fort Max?

He's done nothing other than be my son, I think the collecting thing comes from me and I really enjoy seeing him get enjoyment out of the things he likes.
Thanks for the advice, Dave.

It's a good buy. To add icing on the cake, tell him story wise, Brave Max served as the inspiration of the original Fortmax in KissPlayers. So Technically in chronological order of the Japanese version of G1:
1.Brave Max
2.Fortmax
3.Grandmax
1.Brave Max
2.Fortmax
3.Grandmax
