No, I have most of the Primes, but I don't buy simple repaints like the entire "Premium" line from the first Movie. If it's supposed to be a new character I care about (seekers, etc), then I will buy repaints. If I'd known they were going to do that I might have waited and not bought the first release, like I did with Jazz (got the G1 repaint instead). Now I know better so I'm going to be a lot more cautious about the next Movie line, because I know if I buy something Hasbro's just going to release it again with something else added, and I don't have the money to buy both.
My point is, it's still Optimus Prime with the same robot & alt modes, they just engineered it better...which they could have done the first time. As it is, I'm satisfied enough with the first Movie Prime so I will pass on this one for now, and see what happens with future releases, or pass on it altogether if time doesn't convince me I want it.
I'm a collector on a budget, I can't afford to buy everything they put out.

I couldn't agree MORE! I think Hasbro could have released this version with the original film

Again, I really don't understand the issue here. I'm just gonnna chalk it up to "some people just want to bitch at Hasbro." They produce an improved version of a character two years later, and people complain. If they'd just put out the old one, you guys would have been bitching about how they should have improved it. Hasbro put out a cartoon accurate Universe Starscream and people bitch that it's too dull. They put out a toy/comic accurate Cyclonus, and people bitch that it's not as good as the feckin' LILAC Henkei version. Yeah, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I'm getting tired of this kneejerk "Hasbro suck" reaction to everything they do.

I think it's perfectly possible that they could have designed this one originally. There were some pretty intricately designed figures in the first movie line, and they've had decades of experience designing figures now. They were clearly trying to make a quick buck when they released a lot of figures and then released them again with better paint jobs under the Premium banner, so it's not inconceivable that they waited to release a better Optimus Prime mold, knowing they could make twice the profit.

What, so first time around they deliberately tried to make it 'less good' just so they could do a cooler version for the sequel?
With the first movie they didn't know whether they had a hit or a miss on their hands. They'd done intricate work before, but that was a very different aesthetic, nothing like the craziness of the Movie designs. They didn't even know if they'd be doing a sequel. The only reason they came out with things like the Premium versions was because it turned out there was such overwhelming demand.

You didn't? So in what way isI'm kind of tired of this whole Movie business, with the continual 'better' releases of the same character. Maybe if they changed the paint job and got rid of the silly flames, but for now I'll skip it.
NOT a complaint? Dude, you're not even managing to be consistent with what you've said. You don't like the toy, how it looks, or that it was made BUT that's not a complaint? It's hardly a compliment, is it?
