G.I.Joe Crossovers?
So has there ever been any mention of a possible Transformers Crossovers line for G.I.Joe? I mean, Hasbro has crossed-over their two largest liscensed properties with Transformers (Star Wars and Marvel)...It's surprising that they've yet to do it with there largest in-house property (aside from TF, itself)...Especially with both franchises being made into movies now...
Just a passing thought really...

To be in scale with the Joes they'd have to be either really small TFs or really big toys.

As best I can recollect from BotCon, Hasbro is interested in the idea, but it won't happen for the foreseeable future. Why? A number of reasons. For one thing, there the movies coming out this summer. So they don't want to take away any business from their respective toy lines. Heck they're canceling Animated and Universe/25th Anniversary lines before ROTF even hits shelves. Then there's sequels, and if the fact if they're going to bring back Animated and Universe, or/and if they're going start a new series. I don't think we'll see a Transformers vs GI Joe toy line for 5-10 years at the least. For nowm we'll just have to be happy with the awesome TF vs GI Joe comic by Devils Due from a few years back.

Eh, I think the closest we're going to get to genuine G.I. Joe/TF crossover toys for the foreseeable future are "Energon" Snowcat and that awful Megatron figure that led the Titanium 6" line (and which didn't even look like Megs as Cobra had rebuilt him).
On the other hand, within the past decade, Hasbro has also been cranking out toys of TF characters we thought we'd never see - Unicron and Arcee, among others - and finally warmed to the idea of packaging human figures with TFs.
Plus I just would love to see these in articulated, plastic form...

Re: G.I.Joe Crossovers?
Well I'm not talking like the two lines crossed over story-wise...I'm talking about like they do with Marvel and Star Wars...Have G.I.Joe characters that transform into G.I.Joe vehicles...Like Duke transforming into a tank (as a random example)...
I'm not actually saying that I necessarily WANT them to do it, I'm just surprised they HAVEN'T since they've been trying to captialize on the idea for years now with Star Wars and Marvel...It seems natural to throw G.I.Joe into the mix...
And it seems to me that with the two movies coming out this summer, doing a G.I.Joe Crossovers series would only further capitalize on the two properties, not take away from them...Plus, I doubt, if they did it, they would use the movie versions of the characters, so it wouldn't horn in on that line anyway...
But yeah...I think it would be cool to have toys from the Dreamwave G.I.Joe Crossover story, but that's not really what I was talking about...

Only trouble is, G.I.Joe has farless international appeal than Marvel, Star Wars and Disney (for fairly obvious reasons.) It's possible that the forthcoming movie will change that, but at the moment Hasbro might be worried about international sales.

Eh. No offense, but that's the one reason why I WOULDN'T want to see Hasbro do a Joe/TF crossover line - they barely get away with that "giant-robot-version-of-a-licensed-character" bit as it is now (which they apparently must be, since they're still making these things); I'd just rather have Joe/TF crossover toys the way they are in the comics - as established TF characters (Optimus, Megatron, etc.) with new alt-modes. (Heck, if it was good enough for Titanium, maybe they could squeeze'em into Universe or something...)

None taken...Again, I'm not saying I really WANT them...I think the Marvel ones are simply OKAY and the Star Wars ones are fairly wretched...I'm only surprised they haven't done it...
But...

That I can see some sense in...I suppose it's likey sometime after the movie comes out this is a product we may start seeing...
I'd be curious to see what they come up with but I wouldn't expect them to be too impressive...

Does Marvel have that international appeal? I agree that the movies and their product lines are what would push back such ideas. Between time and materials, they are probabaly limited on how many products can be made at one time. I believe, if we continue with these questions and desires with Hasbro they may give it a shot in time.
I personally would love to have the conquest X30, Raven, HISS, Dragonfly, etc as transformable vehicles. I'd prefer bots to mechanized looking human heads like they've done with Star Wars, but thats where customizing comes in. I hated Han and Chewie's heads, thats what kept me from buying the toy.

How about as Headmasters / Targetmasters, with reduced size G.I. Joes as the pilots / partners to vehicles with proper robot modes?
