G1 'Meg V.S Movie 'Meg! Even though is movie incarnation is far bigger and scarier, i still think G1 Meagtron as a chance to win. Size does not matter in a fight, it can even be an handicap..

Spoilers, obviously:

i was wondering about this fight earlier. i think movie megatron may be physically superior to g1 megatron. cartoon megatron at least. hes be more agile, faster, possibly even stronger. he used his size advantage to throw prime around alot in the movie, extra height and weight gave him alot of leverage, and made him alot harder to pick up or knock off balance. so not only is he bigger and possibly stronger, hes also faster.

however i do think hes lacking in firepower againt g1 megatron. he has a pretty crazy weapon, wether is a cannon or not i dont know, but it sent prime flying into a building with a great deal of force from one shot. but i dont think its on par with the g1 fusion cannon. his extra agility would help in avoiding blasts from his g1 counterpart, but wether he could avoid enough to close the gap and take the fight hand to hand im not sure.

movie megatron would be a better flier, i have little doubt about that. with a jet mode, even if its not as good as starscreams, hed be faster and more manoverable than a g1 decepticon in robot mode. which would make him hard to hit if he decided to take to the sky.

on the other hand i think g1 megatron is probably more durable, with his thicker armor plating. the boxy design would work fairly well at protecting his internal parts. something the movie transformers didnt have, they had alot of small parts showing, and small parts are easy to break.

so im going to say if this is g1 cartoon megatron vs movie megatron, movie megatron would win. if it was comic megatron vs movie megatron, comic megatron would probably win. its a good fight. i really like how agile the movie transformers are, and the much greater range of movement theyd have over their g1 counterparts.

I knew Movie Megatron was stronger (physically) because he's way bigger. Thats laws of physics.
What im suprised is that you say he's quite agile! I thought he was slow and clumsy...
Anyway, ill see it in the movie!

BUT, is he smarter? Im pretty damn sure G1 megatron would find a cheap trick to beat him. That woudlnt surprise me...

im in australia, so i saw the movie twice the day it came out. the agility of the new style transformers is very very impressive. bigger doesnt always mean stronger, look at brawn vs perceptor. perceptor is bigger, but brawn is all strength. also, i have a friend who weighs about 120 kilos and my ex girlfriend beat him in an armwrestle in about 10 seconds. size doesnt mean any of the extra mass is devoted to strength.

Movie Megatron doesn't have the intelligence as the original Megatron had. And the Fusion Cannon counts, the movie cannon took long to charge up.
So, G1 Megatron from me.

Basically. Just give G1 Megs a few M4s and some grenade launchers with that "special" ammo and Movie Megs is ready for the recycling bin. G1 Megs survived millions of years of combat and all of his gladiator contests while Movie Megs was finished off by a horny teen. You be the judge.

Movie megatron um well his alto mode is better um hes agile and he just is plain kick ass. LOL :grin:

i dont think movie megatron is dumb, he just hasnt had need to use any stratigy. hes physically powerful enough to overcome nearly anything that gets in his way and doesnt waste time with needless planning. as far as the earth weapons damaging him, starscream was part of the raptor group that attacked him him. and even then he wasnt killed. it took the allspark to actually kill him. g1 starscream has knocked megatron unconcious in a sneak attack so you cant really fault movie megatron for being taken down in a surprise attack.

the fusion cannon would cause him severe damage though, which is why his speed and agility would be the attributes to give him a chance. if he wasnt distracted by his fight with prime i dont know if the raptors would have even gotten a chance to hit him.

After seeing the movie, i guess the Movie Transformer are much more vulnerable to weapon. The Fusion Cannon turn himinto scrapmetal! BUT, if G1 Megatron get grabbed...he,s SO dead!

well i really think g1 megs couldnt hit movie megs.Reason why movie megs is superior. Hes faster Has an altmode that moves also movie megs has a connon to and if you notice one shot to a g1 transformers and smoke comes out of there mouth and they die.A gun that cannot move vs. a realy hitech fast cybertronian jet. Movie megs has that too. So movie megs is the obvious win. :grin:

I bet that G1 Megatron's accuracy combined with the relatively high rate of fire from the fusion cannon would probably result in a a few hits on Movie Megs, and seeing how Movie TFs were weak to heat weapons, a few hits would be all that G1 would need, so G1.

I'm not convinced G1 Megs could rapidly fire devestating blasts at movie Megs. This is also looking at G1 Megs's fights with G1 Prime. G1 Prime can beat G1 Megs in a one on one fight, though it could potentially go either way; Movie Megs owned movie Prime. Prime seemingly didn't stand a chance even with the airforce, and Starscreams, help. Movie TFs may be weak against temperature based weapons but then i'm sure Bay got that idea from Jetfire being unrescueable underneath 3 ice cubes and Slag wondering why he can't just thaw him out... "We shall remember him" Prime fears flying mechs that are bigger than him. Movie Megs is bigger than either Prime and thus bigger than G1 Megs...

I like G1 Megs, but I can't see him take out his movie counter part. Cartoon is hopelessly out matched, comic would put up a valiant effort, but short of IDW I don't see a G1 megs or prime holding there own with the bayformer
