G1 SHOCKWAVE
G1 SHOCKWAVE

Ok so my question is does anyone know how much he went for when he was first released. I was born in 86 so I'm not quite old enough to remember G1 toys in the store (my first TF I remember seeing in stores were G2). Was he on par with a Voyager, a Leader? He is a big toy, stands about as tall as a Leader class (not quite but close). If they sold him today I would say he would be packaged as a Leader more than likely. Anyone know?

Sorry for that sappy nostalgic moment. I was born in 77 but if I could guess his price then was between 11.99-14.99...anyone-anyone? I think he too would be considered leader class...?

(Side note: Oh My God, I remember going to the West Mifflin Service Merchandise on more than one occasion when I was just a lad. So many toys came home from that place.)
Then again, with inflation a new $20 toy in 1984 would cost $45 now.

It's good that the hose is in good shape. I suggest keeping that rubber as supple as possible to prevent cracking. I use an organic grease that is formulated to keep rubber seals and gaskets from rotting that keeps mine from drying out and turning to dust. It works REALLY well.

Does anyone know of what I speak of and offer up some ideas on the leg issue?

That seems to be the same problem on Megatron G1 too.

So, a kid home sick from school that has a kickass new Transformer to play with...
How awesome is that?

The first one the seller had glued the thing together. I mean seriously! the connectors were covered in glue. Had to put it in hot water to get it off. Then set about repairing the thing which i didn't realise i had to do as he had not mentioned it cheeky B"££$%dd negative feedback large for him.
Then I eventually got a good condition boxed one some seller sold and I have had him ever since even put him in a sealed bag for extra protection.
I remember in the comics when he fought scorponok and nearly beat him but good old scorps smashed him and his illogical dreams of conquest.

So I'm stoked having G1 Shockwave back in my possession but his box is worn (I've seen way worse) and the opened flap has a big part ripped off. Should I keep the box (flatten it and store away) or toss it and buy a new empty one sold on ebay?
The thing that I noticed for the first time ever from all the original inserts that came with the fig was the one that folds out and has all the

That "grease" that i use absorbs instantly and isn't shiny or slippery. Just so ya know. Looks like bran new rubber once applied and it penetrates deep.

This is the stuff i use. Trust me. It's awesome. But it's tuff too find. So maybe the armor all leather stuff mentioned above might work aswell.

For yours I recommend putting him in a plastic sealed bag maybe if he is not going on display.

Can you describe more for the particular grease to use? Does Armor All work?
