G2 Dinobots.

I was cruising eBay recently and did a general search for Grimlock. I came across the G2 blue Grimlock, so I decided to look up the rest. No one on eBay seems to have Sludge or Swoop, just the other 3. Were they ever made, and does anyone here have all 5? Are they worth getting?

Swoop and Sludge did not get released under the G2 name. Also there are 2 color variants for each of the Dinobots. Grimlock was released as a light green and as blue. I think Snarl and Slag got released as red and green.

Make that 3 color varieties for each. In 1992 the first three, Grimlock, Slag and Snarl were released in their original grey colors; the only difference was a G2 sigil stamped somewhere on their legs. A year later came the repaints:

Grimlock: blue, turquoise
Snarl: green, red
Slag: red, green

Swoop and Sludge were planned to appear in a future wave, but it never came to pass. The current state of the molds is unknown, but they're most likely lost, making a reissue very unlikely.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I had thought they came out in gray too but was not 100% sure of it so I left that out.

Just in case anyone was interested, G2 artwork for Sludge, Swoop and a yellow(!) Grimlock.

Now does anyone think those Energon Dinobots need repainting....?

If the G2 Dinobots were complete I'd have bought them in a heartbeat :x

Given the fact that the colour schemes are well and truly out in the open, I'm suprised that one of the "Chinese re-issue" comapanies hasn't done a set.

I never knew there was a planned yellow Grimlock, and I guess my question then is "Why?"
1 grey one
1 blue one
1 green (turquoise, fine, ok?)
1 yellow one

Really? Four Grimlocks in one toy line? I know Seekers get repainted and the Datsuns and all of that, but those at least were/are all different characters with similar body forms. Four Grimlocks? Really?

The guy is popular and if you have the ability to milk that for profit, you do. It just part of the game.

Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

Yeah, I know. That's why we've got 400 ROTF Bumblebees. I guess I just am not enough of a Grimlock fan to understand the need/want for four different ones at once. Again though, I'm a Seeker fanatic, so I get the 'need' to repaint a single mold. But at least the Seekers for the most part are different characters, not counting Starscream/movie repaints, like the Nebula Starscream or Deep Space Starscream or whatever. TC and Skywarp may be exactly the same as Starscream appearance wise, but they're at least different people.
To the same point, I can see how one could argue that each of the ROTF Bees are different characterizations, but they're still all Bumblebee. Just 'cause this one has a gun and that one has a missle launcher and that one has both doesn't make them different characters. They;re still all BB, but they look different.
I guess I just found four of the same bot to be pointless.

Yeah, I think I'll get the 3 G2 guys and the G1 versions of the others. I've only had Swoop before as a kid and I broke him in half...
