Got the "Super Missiles" and the visor that lets me see forever. I'm not sure where to go now, so time to explore again.
I'm not crazy about how the Super Missiles aren't actually missiles but charged-up beams that use missile ammo for a special attack. Sure, it reminds me of/might be lifted from Super Metroid's Power Bomb combos (equip the charge beam and one other beam, then highlight the Power Bombs from your equipment bar and charge the beam fully), but I'd much rather it just be something like "hold down the missile button to load up five rockets that get combined into a familiar green missile." Maybe it's just me.

It's kinda a like that, just with Power Beam and Missiles. However, in Prime there's a so-called Charge Combo for every regular beam, but the Super Missile is the only required one.

Groovy. I'm really enjoying Prime so far. Being a massive Metroid fan fanboy whore, I'm really digging how it often nods to past Metroid history/games (the Wave beam's projectiles looking like those from Metroid II, for example) but has a flavour of its own.
That being said, the soundtrack is one of the weakest points of the game, especially following Super Metroid, whose soundtrack beautifully and subtly added to/created the atmosphere of that gem. Walking around through caves to techno? I'm not feelin' it, especially not after listening to experiencing tracks like the Brinstar "red sand area," the Mariadia "Drowned in Sorrow," or the approach to the Wrecked Ship.
Maybe I'm just crotchety because Super Metroid's my favourite videogame and I spent three years hunting down the Sound In Action soundtrack. Back in my day, we called it a Maru Mari!

Shadowman wrote:Prime was great, Echoes was okay, but Corruption was just damn fantastic. As for the music, you might be interested in some Prime-ified Ridley Theme.

Echoes' light and dark world thing seems kinda odd. I'm not looking forward to it. As for the Prime music, some of the tracks were re-versions of previous Metroid tunes and they were composed by Kenji Yamamoto (Super Metroid's composer), but other than the Tallon Overworld which was a remake of the Brinstar theme from the first Metroid, the Prime tracks felt too upbeat, too cheerful and energetic to me. But you guys know I take my Metroid too seriously.

Echoes is pretty good if you don't let the dual-world thing or Ammo counts bother you. It's the weakest of the series, but that's not saying much when the series as a whole is still among the best games ever. And the Suits you get are among my favorite of any of the Metroid games.

The Wii version removed the ammo counts. Unlimited beams, baby.

Sonic Colors (DS)
Reverting to Sonic for a change, to try and collect all the red rings. Had some luck in Tropical Paradise. Then I decided to challenge all bosses for a rematch or two. The result: all S-Rank. The Wisps make it too easy. Also S-ranked the first two Special Stages.

No it isn't. It's a Bethesda game, you don't just "finish' it like that.
SlyTF1 wrote:Then I'll never play the game again.
What, and miss out on all of the game? You can't beat games like Skyrim on one playthrough.
