Punch a Kell Dragon to death for me, eh?

Shadowman wrote:ALSO, I looked up the specifics on a certain HK-droid's appearance in the game. Long story short, Revan has the same voice actor as Kyle Katarn. He also has a purple lightsaber. Everything about him makes an eerie amount of sense.

That got my interest. Only one voice actor was able to play Kyle more than once; the others simply were not capable of handling all of the win. Is he voiced by the Outcast/Academy Kyle?

Yep, Jeff Bennett. I don't know much about it but from what I'm seeing, Revan doesn't play nearly as much into the game as you'd think. Republic-aligned, the mission is to team up with the Force Ghost of Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile from KOTORII, to release Revan from the stasis the Sith Emperor has kept him in for 300 years, whereupon he teams up with HK-47 to restart the old HK-factory to build a droid army to destroy the Sith.

I want to bear that sentence's children.

(The Imperial mission involves shutting down the factory then fighting him)

I haven't followed Star wars games too closely. I played Dark Forces waaaaaaaay back when (still have it somewhere) and jedi knight, but nothing since.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword
Just obtained the 3rd Sacred flame, made a fool of girahim, and upgraded the Goddess sword to the Master Sword.
Side-game wise, reached the 50 gratitude crystal mark and got the big-*** wallet (not actual in game name). Dropped some more money at the upgrade shop to get the Goddess shield, the Goddess bow, and the large quiver.
Altogether, somewhere around the 34 hour mark.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

There's a book that not only finishes off their stories, it also does a pretty good job of tying up loose ends from the games.

Devil May Cry 4:
BEATEN! Got it off of Steam because it was $10 and I figured I could use a 360 controller with it. It runs surprisingly well, actually. Beat the game, had fun. Nero may not be Dante, but at least he isn't an emo lesbian they're calling Dante.

Batman: Arkham city
Ran out of things to do so pushed the story forward. Freed Freeze, put the penguin on display, and a cameo by Robin gained me the line launcher. Currently tracking a ninja through AC.
Side-mission wise, ran into the Watcher a second time purely by accident. Jumped on a high-point and landed on him. finished Tracking Zsasz and locked him up safely. On the trail of the sniper after finding his second victim.
BTW, Solomon grundy > Killer Croc.

Meetra's whole life is a raw deal. She blows up a planet and loses her connection to the Force in the process, gets kicked out of the Jedi Order, gets chased around by Sith, convincing her to reform the Order, only to find out the Order wants to kill her. And that her de facto master is really a Sith. And when she finally goes out to find Revan, she gets killed by the Sith Emperor and becomes a Force Ghost, bound to Revan for 300 years.

Also her game was a rush job that turned out poorly.

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
Made a Sith Warrior--yes, I have six characters so far. I plan on eight. He's a Pureblood Sith, and I've decided he will be a slightly less evil Sith, and that he's going to get a piece of that action.

Mega Man in Dr. Wily's Revenge (GB)
GAME OVER BEATEN! Short, but sweet game, with only two Wily Stages: Wily Castle and Wily Station. But they're hard enough as it is. No Boss Rematch in this game, instead you get a second set of Robot Masters, all from Mega Man 2:

- Quick Man the Spaz
- Flash Man the Cheapskate
- Bubble Man the Annoying
- Heat Man the Zippo

And after them, Enker the Mega Man Killer. He absorbs your shots and sends them back at you. And he moves fast. Still doable, unlike the Wily Machine. It may look more like a PEZ dispenser but boy is it hard if you don't know what you're doing. Trashed it, and made Wily beg for mercy, as always.

OK, the first game is out of the way, so I can either wait for *groan* Mega Man II, or start on Mega Man III.

If Obsidian hadn't been rushed to finish it, had they been allowed to finish it on time, it would have been amazing, it would have totally blown the first game out of the water. Instead, LucasArts wanted an unrealistic deadline, and the game ended up being an obviously unfinished game with a few really good moments. (Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion were two really damn awesome Sith Lords)

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
My Sith Warrior's master is angry. A Jedi that he really hates is working on exposing an entire network of Sith spies. My long term goal is to root out said Jedi's padawan, who has the unique ability to sense people's true intentions (Still not as good at rooting out Spies as the Pyro, but still...), but my current goal is to fix the leaks in the network, by sealing them up with a Lightsaber...

I am so, SO okay with this post.

LEGO Universe [PC]:
Seeing as how it's shutting down at the end of the month (I can't say I'm surprised, though), I figured I'd pop in and see what's changed since the beta.

I made a new character and, since the "input a name" function is locked to paying users, gave him the name of "Quake Jetpack Dude." Naturally, I made him look like Duke Nukem.

Currently exploring the Monument.

While I'm waiting on an opportunity to play Mega Man III and IV, I've been messing with another personal hero of mine, Kirby:

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Usually Kirby games are like Mario games, pretty straight-forward, level by level. Not this one, this game is a gigantic maze, like Metroid only without the power-ups :P I've accomplished quite a bit actually, I recovered 2 mirror shards already, but now I'm well and truly lost on retrieving the third. At least I already have a map showing me where it is...

Just started Peace Walker, and damn, am I confused. Trying to piece together what happened between MGS 3 and Peacewalker WITHOUT playing portable ops, and without watching a 6 hour playthrough on youtube has been a total pain in my brain.
Just destroyed PUPA. Really good boss design, even if it is a ripoff of the shagohod. I'll be remembering that one.
BTW Thanks Shadowman for helping me piece together what you did. This, on the other hand, has me downright floored...

Star Wars: Dark Forces [PC]:
Can't let our boy Shadowman have all the Star Wars fun up in here.

Went to the ice planet in the Cal-Seti system, destroyed a robot facility, and took out a Phase One and Phase Two Dark Trooper. Thems crafty robot bastards.

Next, off to Nar Shaddaa, where hopes and morals go to die. Just the place to be when you have a bounty on your head. Fought a lot of Gran toughguys and Transdoshans with Concussion Rifles. Found some incriminating evidence, and then got captured by Jabba the Hutt, who tried feeding me to his Kell Dragons.

If you think Kyle Motherkriffing Katarn is going to get eaten like a bitch by a Kell Dragon, then you don't know Kyle Motherkriffing Katarn. Punched the dragon to death, got my gear back, killed another Kell Dragon, saved Jan, and got the hell out of there. I found it was easier to kill a Kell Dragon with Kyle's Mighty Fist than it was to shoot 'em with the Concussion Rifle.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance [GameCube]:
Started a new game as the Sorceress Elf chick, because Sorceress Elf chick. Went to Baldur's Gate, and within minutes found myself beaten and robbed, and if those two knights didn't show up, I probably would've been killed and/or raped, too.

Penniless, I went to a tavern that was run by a chick who's dressed to work in a brothel. Her face looked a little unusual, but between her hip gyration and her giggle physics, I hardly looked at it.

Started questing and realized that the crap armour I had on gave a grand total of ZERO armour points. The stuff was purely cosmetic, so I just took it off and sold it. After all, unf, my character's a giggity elf chick, y'know?

Story-wise, I found the bottle for the patron and I solved the rat problem, but now I have to find the dude who's been kidnapped as well as get the other guy's dead brother's medallion so that he can pass it on to his son. I do it for the children.

Saints Row: The Third [PC]:
Decided to push the story along to get some Penthouses because I could use some more helipads around town. Next mission is The Ho Boat. Reached Level 40.

Renegade Ops [PC]:
I didn't play nearly enough Jackal, but I'm starting to get better at this. Got Dat Roxy to Level 8 or 9. Don't think it counted, though, since the game's rather unstable and upon finishing Mission 2, it crashed loading the cutscene.

Playing as Gordon Freeman, driving the Episode 2 car, and summoning Antlions is a freakin' blast, by the way.

That's how I roll. Help 'em and hurt 'em at the same time.

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
**** Taris.

Let me elaborate.

When you pick your class, and you finish up that class's starting planet, you move on to a faction-specific planet. (Coruscant for the Republic, Dromund Kaas for the Empire) Then another planet based on the classes story. For my Consular, it was Taris. At first, it was fun, a big string of KOTOR references, even spending some time inside the crashed wreckage of the Endar Spire.

Then it gets tedious.

Then, you complete big story mission of the planet. They tell you to go to your ship, make a call, then get the hell outta dodge. Then, on your way out the door, you see a man with a quest marker over his head. He tells you to go visit a crumbling colony on literally the other side of the planet.

That's when you realize the planet doesn't want you to leave.

Technically, I CAN leave any time I want. Unfortunately, I, like nearly everyone else in the game, am compelled to complete every quest and sidequest set before me. So all I can do is flail about and bitch and moan and do this stupid Bonus Series.

Darth Malak had the right idea. If one of my Sith gets the chance, I am so blowing this planet up.

Barrowed my friends psp, turns out he had portable ops. Currently looking for Malaria drugs in the research lab. All peace walker has been haulted until this game's over.

FINALLY got off of Taris. I hate that planet now. I didn't like in in KOTOR--a lot of walking around and backtracking--and this game didn't make me like it any more. I did get hit on by a guy who didn't realize my gender and my character's gender are not the same. That was hilarious.

I'm not pretending to be a girl online. I'm just not correcting anyone.

Now my Consular is on Nar Shaddaa, a planet I never hated. It's like Coruscant, except with more neon lights, and all the politicians are Hutts, and instead of Jedi they have street gangs.

Yeah, that sort of thing pretty much killed KOTOR for me.

Y'see, I thought you were talking about an NPC here, so I didn't get the joke. Then I read your next line.

Shadowman wrote:I'm not pretending to be a girl online. I'm just not correcting anyone.

Some of the most fun you'll have playing games online is screwing with people.

Shadowman wrote:Now my Consular is on Nar Shaddaa, a planet I never hated. It's like Coruscant, except with more neon lights, and all the politicians are Hutts, and instead of Jedi they have street gangs.

Remember, never trust a bartender with bad grammar or Nar Shaddaa will be your grave.

The Ultimate DOOM [PC]:
The level design in this game still holds up. Gameplay, too. The newschool could really learn a thing or two from classics like this one.

In Episode 3, at the before-last level, I think. Which means I'll have to face the Spidermind soon. Not looking forward to it. I remember them being real hard in DOOM II.

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus [GameCube]:
Well, I finally did it. Without any more Missions available from the Guild, I had to cowboy up (or cowgirl up, I guess, since I'm playing a RAmarl) and made my way through Forest 1 and 2 to face the Dragon under the Dome.

I nearly got owned, but luckily I had a lot of healing items and a sweet-ass Rifle +3. So yeah, I've slain a dragon by shooting it. Not as traditional as sword-and-shield combat, but eff it, the beast is down.

Spoke to the Principal of the ship. Now I can head to the Caves and keep on question. Haven't found his daughter yet, but she's a resourceful little number, so I'm sure she's fine. And she'd better be worth the trouble. Also, her nickname, "Red Ring Rico," totally sounds like a porn name.

Saints Row: The Third [PC]:
Took over the island with the airport. Working on the other two. Wrapped up all the Tank Mayhem, Genki, and Trail Blazing Activities. About 70% through the game, 50% of the Achievements.

Taris was bad, but Manaan was the worst. Though Manaan in kind of funny when you think about it; fighting was so sparse because the local government demanded neutrality, and fighting would cause either side to lose the main source of kolto, which is also the basis of the planets economy. Then Bacta comes along...

An NPC on Nar Shaddaa also hit on me. Though, to be fair, he's justified.

I like to extend that rule to "Don't trust anyone on Nar Shaddaa." Even in KOTOR2, every moment you spend on the planet involves being mugged and backstabbed. Often both at the same time.

Forgot where I left off last post. But so far I've recovered the master sword, fought off the Imprisoned... twice! Made friends with Groose (amazing how much friendlier you are with someone when they own a bomb launcher), and tracked down a missing person. was sent to find the Triforce. First step, find the song that gives the clues. A possessed flying Whale clued me in after I freed him. Went back to Faron woods to find it flooded. Convinced the water dragon to drop the water level a few hundred feet.
Side quest wise, a few more Goddess cubes, tricked the item check girl into thinking I loved her, found Beedle's lost bug, moved a mole and a plant-person to the sky.
Up to 76 gratitude crystals. Trying to track down the last 4.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Delicious bacta. Don't leave home without it. Well, that and a Bryar Pistol.

Hey, at least you weren't disintegrated by kriffing Rodian snipers while fighting your way through garbage, eh?

The Ultimate DOOM [PC]:
Guess I WAS at the final level of Episode 3. Finished off the Spidermind and went back to Earth. That's right. That's how badass Flynn Taggart, the "Doomguy" is: he dies fighting demons, goes to hell, and kicks hell's ass so damn hard that they have no choice but to bring him back to the realm of the living, and send him to his home planet, no less.

Currently on Level 2 of Episode 4, and damn, is this crap hard.

Holy crap I'm having fun with this. Losing so much time just exploring.
Storywise, Defeated Ra's Al Ghul, went to Mr. Freeze, beat him up, then saved his wife.
Side mission wise, had a surprisingly cool run-in with the Mad Hatter. Completed Bane's quest. Tracked down the Watcher, who is unsurprisingly Azreal. Still tracking down the 'identity thief'. 3 Riddler areas down but still working to unlock the 4th.

I know they wanted to keep things current, but I was really hoping to see a modernized version of the Jean-Paul Valley Azreal.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.
