On my second character, I made a pass through Blackreach. I took a different path and noticed a ton of buildings that have nothing to do with the quest. I have every intention of fully exploring it at some point, that place is waaaaaaay too large for just one quest.
Recovered the scroll and the Dwemer knowledge. However, the lockbox requires Dwemer blood to function (something that is notoriously difficult to find). Making a harvesting run. Still need wood elf and FAlmer blood.

Falmer blood is easy enough, trace your steps through any place where you fought them. Wood Elf, I dunno, just keep playing and you'll find a sample. The reward is totally worth it, by the way, the Oghma Infinium, +5 or +10 to one-third of your skills. (Your choice which set) You'll level up a few times.

Went in to my first match, expecting to suck and drag my team down. We lost. but I did the best on my team. (I was playing as a Drow unf Ranger) One of our opponents was playing Ursa, went 25-1 because Ursa is totally goddamn broken, even admitting he was playing Ursa after learning about that the hard way.
Still, first match I got more kills than deaths, as far as I'm concerned, I won. The rest of my team lost, I won. (And that one death Ursa suffered? That was me)

Finished the College of Winterhold. Now all I have left is random odds and ends while I wait for Dawnguard to drop for PS3.

Ran into Rakkinshu, totally forgot he existed, so I was taken off guard there for a minute. Killed him easely with my new Vitrolic Shotgun (Sweeper? I dont remember the exact name)
Got the "Cracked Sash". My friend, who's been playing diablo for freaking EONS says that Rakkinshu and the item you get for beating him are based off of a boss in one of the diablo games. I believe him, you've never met a bigger nerd.
BeastProwl wrote:I dont know a damn thing about diablo, exept that I dont like top-down games all that much. So I never got into it. Borderlands is awesome though. But if it were top-down, I would probably have passed it up too. I cant stand top down, save for a few exeptions. Total Carnage for the SNES for example. Good ol' days.

Delicious hypocrisy.

That boss is a reference to Diablo II, in which Fallen Ones, Carvers, and I think Devil Kin sometimes exclaim "Rakanishu," which, besides for being funny, also turns out to be the name of a Super Unique monster in Act I.
Since Borderlands is "Diablo With Guns" and the flying beasts are called Rakk, it makes sense that they made a D2 reference in the monster's name and its item drop. In D2, a Cracked Sash is one of the most valueless items you'll ever find.
Back in my day, Griswold still had his Edge.

Picked up the Last Laugh DLC, mostly for the new Shield Weapon which is totally not based on any character appearing in a recent major motion picture from Joss Whedon owned by a rival comic company. Made a new character just for it, Shield weapon, obviously, Sorcerer, Wonder Woman mentor, acrobatics, oh, also he is so black he makes Malcolm X look like Anderson Cooper.

I'm going to say something bad about Arkham City. I know, it's borderline sacrilege, but it has to be said:
God these sidequests suck.
Track down Hush? It ends with a cutscene and Batman saying "Meh, I'll do it tomorrow." (I will admit, it was a really cool cutscene, but it only makes the anti-climax that much worse) Track down Azrael? He says you're going to do cool things, and then he runs off. Get all Catwoman's loot? Nothing happens. Save all the Riddler hostages? I haven't finished that because it requires you to pick up all 400 collectibles in the game.
I will say, though, that Mad Hatter's sidequest was short but really, really sweet. Bane's was about as short (You can complete it while doing the main story with only a few short detours) and while it's ending was disappointing, at least I got to fight something. Zsasz and Deadshot's quests were okay, still anti-climactic but at least I got to actually hurt them.
Bleh.
Starting up New Game Plus, heading to the GCPD building. I haven't had to do any real sequence-breaking yet, even though I have all the gadgets long before I should.
Also, I picked up the Robin DLC. Turns out, combat in this game is awesome no matter who you are.

Dawnguard's coming out next month. It's going to have totally cool new stuff to do as Werewolves and Vampires, and there's going to be crossbows and stuff.
