I was at my local wal-mart yesterday and I saw a few of these guys on the pegs. However, none of them had that fan like structure ontop of their wings. I looked at the seibertron gallery for this guy, and it shows that these fans can be removed.

So I'm guessing the fans are detached and place under the figure inside the packaging?

Is there any purpose for the detaching fans?

They're attached under the tailfins.

After you said that, I took another look at Gen Thrust on card...... yah it seems they are right there, under the figure, I just didn't notice.... whoops

Yeah, the fan can be removed from the tail. Exactly why Hasbro though it went there is anybody's guess.

As for the purpose of why it can detach, it was more than likely a budget thing, or they planned on doing more and aborted an idea.

I think they come off mainly because Thrust is the Henkei Thrust, and they needed to make it different enough from Botcon Thrust to avoid problems or whathaveyou with FunPub. It's not that big of a deal figure wise, but to me it makes the wings feel cheap, like the plastic's bad. I like Generations Thrust, but Botcon Thrust is better for me. But, I got them all, becuase I have a Seeker addiction.

Actually, the BotCon wing molds have been destroyed to avoid piracy. Standard procedure with any BotCon exclusive molds like new heads.

I like the fact you can remove them and reconfigure the positioning. I prefer the fans on top of the wings in plane mode but it just gets in the way while in bot mode. He's deffo not my fav. seeker (i prefer my classics Ramjet) but i like the difference the fans make

Hell, I like TFG Thrust better than Henkei or the Botcon 07 Thrust. Just fits in. I really like the TFG Dirge. Love the colors and its a solid mould imo. Inly thing that bugs me a bit it the Con emblem in the middle of his chest. Ahh well.

In the cartoon they mis-animated the thrusters on his legs when he was in robot mode, and the japanese are insane and thought "Lets make a mistake.. into a feature!"
"excellent idea Shinawakuminada" -and thus Henkei / Generations Thrust was born.

As much as I love Henkei / Generations Thrust , when i was little back in 85 I had thrust, so in my honest bottom of my soul true opinion- Botcon Thrust is #1

I had Thrust when I was younger too albeit he was a hand-me-down toy so he was missing alot of stuff but had his wings and 1 tailfin and one arm mounted weapon Ialways wondered why he was the only seeker with fans on his wings I also had Dirge but he just had his two wings heh goood times
