So my uncontrollable plastic lust for repaints came to a very happy peak when I recently picked up Gentei Wildride from a friend of mine from TFCon.

Almost a month has gone by and today I decide to open it (I've been busy as a dung beetle in a **** storm on top of a whack of an assortment of personal reasons) and as I carefully dissect the packaging and remove the first lair of plastic I notice something horrifying... he's broken!!!

Now my heart starts beating faster then the heart of Chris Farley running the New York Marathon. The left wing on the spoiler is so bent that is cracked off, only held on by a small sliver of what is either the chrome or a shred of plastic. I couldn't even bring myself to take him out of the package. It was like holding... well I was going to do a "dead baby" joke but lets be honest... it's probably a little to inappropriate for this thread. Plus it's not nearly as gut wrenching.

So I e-mailed my friend asking if there's any way he can pull an exchange for me. If anyone has this figure or Henkei Rodimus then you'll know that you can't really see the spoiler so it's really very hard to check it over.

Any idea as to what I can do if he can't pull a swap for me? Anything like this happened to you before? Know any funny jokes that will bring me out of this emotional slump?

At one point I was consideringgetting a Wildrider, removing the spoiler entirely and painting over the flame deco to a solid silver. The only thing that stopped me was the price. Basically, I would have prefered to get a broken one so I wouldn't feel so bad customizing it!

I want to use that, Dragstrip and a Motormaster made from E Barricade to make a Classics Menasor. Your tragedy would have been my jackpot!

Ouch. This is even worse than realizing what huge turds Henkei Thundercracker and Skywarp are, with their super-loose arm cannons. My sympathies.

would crazy glue or epoxy work of the split? And if that can't fix it you could always try getting a Classics Rodimus and silver krylon his spoiler as a replacement.

I wouldn't know where to being doing stuff like that. For the price I paid I wouldn't want to ruin it even further

I just got those two as well. Surprisingly enough Skywarp is fine, but thundercracker is looser then a $3 hooker. His arm cannons stay in fine... well his right arms cannons is a little loose but it's his left wing that drives me batshit insane. In robot mode it just flops back.

I assume the spoiler is chromed, right? If that's the case you could either repair the spoiler yourself and then send it off to be re-chromed, or you could find a classics Hotrod remove the spoiler and send it off to be chromed. There was another thread on here within the last week where someone had asked if there was a way to repair flaked chrome, another member stated they had found a company that would re-chrome G1 parts. It was cheap and the results where fantastic.
