Thanks! It's a bottle of shiny called Alclad Lacquer 2. Requires some practice, technique and an airbrush but it does get pretty close to chrome. You can find dozens of reviews and tips to help get you started on youtube. Thanks for checking him out!

This makes me kind of regret cancelling my preorder for the cretacious advancement set... I'll need to order it again when I have the money, that sword looks so much better than the smaller one that comes with him. Does it have the same problem of the hilt being "loose" in his hand pre-painting? (The base sword seems to swivel left and right in the hand socket too easily if you push it all the way in.)

Yea the kit is pretty much gangster. Sword is tight and the optional handles for the shield are a nice touch. Forearm or fist. The tolerances are spot on. Nothing slips, especially the cavity plate. That things might be a little too snug.

That is gorgeous! I swear he almost looks like you chrome plated him! Phenomenal paint job! I really dig that add-on kit as well, I have one and can't believe how much cooler it makes Grimmy. Plus the sword is sharp enough to double as a letter opener

Dayum, now I know this kit exists I'm gonna have to get a FoC Grimlock!

I must admit though that the plate looks suspiciously like a Lego Hero Factory piece...
