I think a majority of GI Joe fans are Transformer fans(or at least remotely), so what gives?

also i would like to see a "human alliance" scale crossover. so joes could ride in bots.
and potentially Hasbro doesn't wanna do a x-over cartoon because they don't want all their eggs in one basket. if it bombs it make both series look bad

I dunno. Maybe i'm just limited to the microeconomy of Walmarts store shelves, but it isn't like i see anything else aside from the ROTF stuff and animated.

Why can't Hasbro just make everyone happy and do the same thing? I could see a animated GI Joe vs Transformers DVD or many, a animated Wreckers DVD....I mean, i don't know all the various canons and stories, but theres a wealth of good stories in the comics alone to start putting out a DVD or 2 a year based on them and then they could even make more profit by having the movie-related toys in a annual Universe line. Not only that, but theres been quite a few art styles laid out by now. We got the live action style, the Pat Lee style, the whatever-you-call-it-IDW-that-looks-almost-as-good-as-Pat-Lee sytle, the G1 style, this new WFC style....theres alot there for them to draw inspiration from.
I seriously should go work at Hasbro. I think my ideas alone could make them alot more money. lol

You might think that but then again, so do a lot of fans. Also they do not just let anyone work on their stuff, as much as it may seem that way at times.
The fact of the matter is, Hasbro has people employed that as part of their job, look into these things, and while the standard line given is the one stated above regarding brand preservation, there is no way that this exact request has not been brought up, debated, and viewed to be non-profitable.
We can sit as fans and list off tons of things we "know" Hasbro should be doing as it's "guaranteed to be a hit and make money!" however no business can be run like that. If they see the market will support it, then we may see it down the road, but honestly, I doubt that will happen until we have at least passed their current live-action movies, the new HUB show lines, and they start looking at possible brand expansion.
As for the other lines (Marvel, Star Wars) those are risks based on their market research that most collectors stick to a couple lines and that those items sell across the traditional buyers for both, where as, many multi-line collectors getting TF's or joes are already likely buying both already (raises hand) diminishing their need to crossover to generate sales beyond the traditional.
Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

Oh how I love it when this statement pops up every few months.
See, here's the thing.
Transformers are popular worldwide.
G.I. Joe, while it may have SOME popularity outside of the US, really doesn't have such an international market.
So let's let TF's be TF's and not have them watered down and butchered by some other brand.

To illustrate the popularity in Europe: right now, G.I. Joe toys are in bargain bins, while RotF toys are still at full price (but not moving except the Scouts).

Yeah, i get the impression that i'm gonna be dead before they ever do something i find really cool, but hey, WFC was definitely a step in the right direction.
Transformers are popular worldwide.
G.I. Joe, while it may have SOME popularity outside of the US, really doesn't have such an international market.
Yeah, i did'nt think about that and it explains why Hasbro turned "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" to "G.I. Joe An International Hero". With all the anti-US attitudes out there, its no wonder they would'nt be able to sell the GI Joe brand.
So let's let TF's be TF's and not have them watered down and butchered by some other brand.
Well, its already been watered down by the Avengers, Star Wars, and Micheal Bay, so ya know....what the hell? lol
I still think a straight to DVD release of GI Joe vs Transformers would be wicked. Even if it was only released in the US, i still think they'd make a decent profit on it.

Why don't we throw in another brand to water it down? How about Nintendo, Capcom, or Sega? Hahahaha, NOT (Although I WOULD like to see megaman transform into something, but what the crap would he turn into? A little rocket ship or something? That WOULD be disgraceful to BOTH names).

05 ) Sam

That's a very plausible reason.
Just to add, I don't like the Star Wars Transformers. Great vehicle modes, but most of the robot modes don't appeal to me. But...they're still making new toys for the line, because the Star Wars fans seem to be buyin' them. The same can apply for the Disney Label Transformers.

Animated wise, highly unlikely, and for the same reason we haven't seen toys, to much chance of hurting the franchises to risk doing. Plus with the recent announcements that future DC and Marvel DVD direct films are on hold due to poor sales of recent titles, It doesn't look good.
As for a show on Hub? Not anytime soon. and at the very least not before Transformers: Prime and GIJoe: Renegades finish their runs.
Just remember all is not lost as you can always reread the books and watch Cobra Commander's amazing cameo in G1 Season 3.
