There are three heavy hitters who can kull through a number of green lanterns at a time. Superboy Prime, Parallax and Hank Henshaw all seem to work beyond the scope of a green lantern and know have a new yellow ring to boot. Without the aid of two Supermen I find it hard for the GLC to contain a fully powered Superboy let alone stop him when he's got a yellow energy source and solar-enhancing antimonitor armor. Parallax had possesed the most powerfull of the greenlantern corps only to be defeat by the one who was granted
the power of Ion; now the one once called Ion is his new host and his power is possibly even greater. Hank Henshaw happens to be a technopath who took control of the
mechanical race on biot, has Superman's Kryptonian DNA, and is a Krytonian enhance Cyborg who has aquired a number of lantern rings. His followers on biot are responcsible for the rebuilding of The lantern battery and the GLC are still unaware he is
there new grandmaster or even of his involvement. These are the three members I don't see the
current and newly restablished GLC being able to deal with.
While I trust the DC writers will have Hal face off with Parallax and somehow gain the powers of Ion to combat him, effectively placing him in hire standing than Rayner again cannonly or otherwise. (I smell a Rodimus vs Optimus fight) The number of GLC members with experience will have to overcome the others Sinestro corps members, a planet full of Manhunters enhanced with Kryptonian tech who potentially are able to tap the very power of the same Green lantern central battery they help rebuild. This along with the fledgling GL fodder, those whom can’t always combat the yellow impurity, (Senior Hugo’s thoughts on this, thou plausible, have yet to be confirmed) simply being overrun by hordes of Manhunters and used to show the futility of them facing off with the senior members of the sinestro corps spell a fight the GLCorp should not win.
Conversely, a strategy of playing the insane Kryptonian teen against Sinestro or the other big hitters of his corp could give a tactical advantage to the GLC. This then fuels the events leading to Hal removing Parallax from Rayner, and breakdown of Sinestro’s forces.
Or the children of the Oans and Zamarons show up with the real
Green Lantern Corpse but I’m betting there atleast two retcons removed by now.
It would be nice for them to work in
Effigey, or even
Alex Nero showing up in
DarkStar Exo-MantelsI just don’t think the current GLC roster can take the other super villians without Ion’s help. Some of the Sinestro Corps also have superpowers outside of a light contruct ring. While there are more unnamed LanternCorp members than unnamed SinestroCorp members, quality should out play quantity in this case.
