Hailstorm/Mindset mold recommendations?
- Motto: "Who the hell do you think I am?"
- Weapon: Slingshot
I've been seeing the two shelf-warming here and there. I've been contemplating picking up the mold, and I was hoping I can get some opinions on the mold.
Is it worth picking up? How's the poseability?

His posability is so-soish, my greatest draw to him are his armaments. Although, you may not like the missiles sticking out so much in robot mode. If you have to choose between Mindset and Hailstorm, get Hailstorm, and call him Mindset

He is VERY stumpy and short. Like the deluxe twins he's about as tall as a scout but quite wide.
His shoulder articulation is very limited.
His transformation is interesting. I really like the way the body collapses.
The missiles only fire about 2 inches and you'd be wanting to cut them off so they don't stick out at the back so much.
He's a so-so figure. If you're short on money don't bother. If your TF budget is looking healthy then go ahead.

Good call here. He's a "eh, why not" figure, not an "OMG I have to own it now!!!!" figure. I got the Hailstorm version for my sons for Christmas, and it doesn't get much play time. Doesn't stay together in vehicle mode very well either.

I'm more with the last two, except I'm more toward the don't bother at all. On a scale of 1-10, this guy hits about a 3. Unless your only other options are the Bike Sisters or Tuner Mudflap, there's bound to be a better figure available...and it only beats out Tuner Mudflap if you already have the original. Well, that might be stretching it a bit, but it's not far off IMO. In other words, my recommendation is you buy mine.

Great mold! Unlike the guy above me, I'd give it about a 7 on a 1-10 scale.
"Doesn't stay together in vehicle mode very well either."
I don't know what that guy is talking about. Mine stays together perfectly in alt mode.

^This.
I think it's a neat little figure. I've got three, Mindset, Hailstorm, and another Hailstorm that's getting repainted in Chocolate Chip camo under the provisional name "Buckshot"

Mine stay together as well, but maybe under child play it doesn't. I haven't transformed him for a while so can't really say.
The lack of arm/hand weapons hurts the figure.

Re: Hailstorm/Mindset mold recommendations?
One thing I like about him is that you can pose him in a cool "3-point stance" like a defensive lineman, with one fist on the ground and his missiles aimed straight ahead. He looks pretty bad-ass like that.

He stays together well in vehicle mode, yes. His legs, though, just are way too short for me. And he's a prime example of why I simply don't like missiles.

Re: Hailstorm/Mindset mold recommendations?
I would say he's actually kind of... terrible.
And I gotta go with the "he doesn't stay together" crowd here. His feet fold up so that the bottoms of each come together. But they don't peg in to each other or latch in any manner. They are always out of alignment and always shift away so that it looks wrong.
Eh, he's junk. I keep him in the hopes that I can cut those launchers off him and use them for something interesting down the road.

I had him and then took back for Terradive! and the trade up was worth it. Just felt Hailstorm was short, stumpy but wide as a battle ship, but he has good points and bad points and didnt like the missiles sticking out either and should have been some small articulation in the hands or a close hole fists for some weapons that could plug into, but all in all, did like the bot mode, but really liked the alt mode something about his MLRS mode was awesome and really like those military vehicles. MLRS = Multiple Launcher Rocket System(s)

I like Mindset more than I thought I might. His head sculpt is actually pretty nice. Unfortunately it's overshadowed by The better looking (my opinion) Hailstorm head. If you're going for the G2 factor, obviously Mindset is the way to go.
