Flux Convoy wrote:I'm a little surprised with how little we actually saw. How have we not seen Victorion completely? We've seen the two awful art panels but why no figures? No info about reissues, the coneheads(which are online at Target) no Trypticon (which looks to be dropping any second now). No tease for Computron or anything further like the creature combiners. No deluxe figure info beyond two waves of Autobot repaints. No Gnaw? Still? Pipes is a blue Optimus Prime? C'mon with that. Pipes deserves an IDW design. I was incredibly underwhelmed by Hasbro's showing this year. To end on a positive. I think Bruticus and Sky Lynx are pretty great. I just wish we had seen more than them.

There is one from Takara. They are calling next year the year of the Beast Wars MP

While, in all seriousness, I would like one, I understand why one might not be happening for a while. The engineering on most of the rest of the cast would be nigh on impossible to create as well as Rhinox and Rattrap (I'm thinking specifically of blackarachnia, terrorsaur, dinobot - robots with lots going on design-wise and not much space in beast mode)
Don't get me wrong - I NEED this series in my life - but just thinking of how to cram all of terrosuars bot mode into the beast mode satisfactorily (if the bar is to be set at Rhinox, Rattrap, and Waspinator for beast mode quality and bot mode accuracy and scale) is making my

I think they were really onto something with that Universe Dinobot. The bot mode is spot on and it could be upscaled to voyager class for scale. The main problem was the robot kibble on the beast mode's chest (as is always the case with BW Dinobot). But I feel they could inspire themselves off that design as a starting point and do a better job. Cheetor could be based off his original toy but made sleeker (just like Waspinator seems based on it's original toy) and tarantulus as well. Blackarachnia and Terrorsaur are the tougher ones because their robot modes are so sleek. I doubt a perfect terrorsaur will ever exist, no way those wings can end up that small in bot mode.

Or an upscaled Universe 2008 Dinobot with the correct colors. Believe it or not, I don't mind the Universe 2008 rendition of Cheetor as much as many others do. I appreciate the sleeker build compared to his VERY chunky original toy. It's not perfect, but it does well enough for me right now that I'm not itching for a redo before we get some more of the core characters done in "Classics" style.

Having U.Cheetor in beast mode next to Telemocha Cheetor in bot mode looks greatWolfy Jay wrote:Or an upscaled Universe 2008 Dinobot with the correct colors. Agreed. In my eyes, Primal and Megatron aren't really needed... they're at this point repetitive. Really itching for a Terrorsaur, BW Scorponok, Tarantulas, and Blackarachnia, then Inferno, Airazor, and Tigatron later. Sure Cheetor and Dinobot suck, but since they've already been updated and Beastie slots are limited, I'd rather they focus on more dire characters needing an update

Wolfman Jake wrote:I think the bitter truth with a LOT of the Beast Wars cast is that modern updates are going to have to go back to the 2006 "Classics" mission statement, doing classic characters with modern engineering that call back their familiar traits and looks without stringently adhering to the original style, allowing for artistic license and so forth. Faces and decos can be spot on, while beast modes take a bit of liberty with the original designs, or the robot modes end up with different beast kibble, etc.

I find that deluxe silverbolt really holds up, maybe the most of all of them (along with Depthcharge and TM2 Megatrron). BM Silverbolt though...
It'd likely be the BWII version consisting of Lio Junior, Skywarp, and Santon given Takara's sticking to cartoon-based media for MP inspiration. So we could be looking at a MP child combiner.ZeroWolf wrote:(oh and Magnaboss if they are up to it)

Since he's of Lio Junior's mind, BWII Magnaboss is a kid.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:we could be looking at a MP child combiner.
I know it was meant in the most professional way possible, but that turn of phrase sounds all kinds of wrong to me.
