You know what would have made this much more acceptable? Slash and Scorn in G1 decos so they could be pals with the old SDCC set crew.

Basically this set came out last year(spare the exclusion of one figure). LAST YEAR! What could possibly merit the existence of this thing as a platimum edition set?? :BANG_HEAD:

I don't like how busy these designs are but they are based on the movie universe so I guess busy just comes naturally.

Them platty dinos has got me intrigued. I don't own any of those molds and I'm liking the decos. I didn't notice Scorn was missing, but that makes sense considering the theme. I would like to have him too though. I guess it will come down to price and availability.

Well... I got Grimlock and Slug already... But if this comes to Brazil at a not too absurd price, I may even consider getting these. The odds that I'll ever see Slog, Snarl and Strafe for sale here are -100. I'm liking these decos and wouldn't mind having two repeated extras...

Anyway I'm happy that these exist, I might pick them up because I doubt we're getting classics dinobots anytime soon and TBH I like these guys. At the very least it'll lower the cost of getting the original set with its beautiful box. Down side these guys still have that transparent plastic that I don't like, and they could use for gold.

Exactly! Slash needs some recolors. I enjoy the mold a lot and other than the Hasbro version, the only other use is the Takara AD one. That's not very much

And am I the only one who would have preferred Toon accurate decos? I would love Swoop to have a blue chest. Anyways, none of this really surprises me. They've reissued SDCC sets in the past (with slight alterations) for the mass market. Like SDCC Bruticus.

The colors are more consistent. The SDCC set, bless its heart, was awfully inconsistent with the kinds of golds/browns that were applied, and whether those colors were chromed.

Here, you have a much more unified color scheme amongst the deluxes, and the two figures that have gold, the voyagers, appear to have the same tone of it. I dunno, that's just to my eye.

And if these do indeed have G1 inspired head sculpts, well... that gives this set a real reason to exist.

So I retract my bad things to say about it as these were based on a faulty expectation of G1 reissues and being disappointed by that. I do not retract what I've said about Slash and Scorn though >:oP

Yeah, it's hard to make out the details, but those heads definitely don't seem to match up with the original Age of Extinction ones. It would have been nice had they gone with the G1 cartoon coloring for Swoop/Strafe (blue chest) or Slag (red helmet).

Wasn't the G1 Sludge mold lost/damaged prior to G2, hence why we never saw a prototype surface?

I feel like this gives me a reason to pick up the Black Knight decos... Between those 3 and Nemesis Grimlock, you have a nice team of Nemesis Dinobots with unique head sculpts to face off against the G1-inspired team.

Just like Platinum Omega Supreme is the defacto Gen Omega Supreme, is this Hasbro telling us (especially due to the remolded heads) that this is what we are getting in terms of gen dinobots? Thus, leaving FOC Grimlock (and Classics Grimlock) as an odd man out, and also meaning that we wont be getting Gen Dinobots down the road? If this is the case, what do you guys feel about this?

I have to hand it to you Megatronus, you sure find amazing TF related ways to legitimize spending a whole bunch of money. Do you have the original AOE ones too?

Oh wait, but isnt the black knight series limited to just Slug and Grimlock (and Scorn, but he isnt in this G1 set). Does that foil your plans?
