Hasbro have announced a new promotion "Play Rewards".

You can receive up to $50 in Toy and Games rewards when you purchase Hasbro branded products, including Transformers.

To redeem your Rewards Points, you must mail in an order form as well as copies of your original store receipts.

The "Play Rewards" promotion runs from February 1 200 until March 23 2008, and is open to residents of the United States of America.

At this point you might be better off waiting for Henkei versions (assuming that's what the line's being called in Japan) to drop. I would if I didn't already have all the figures I want from this line.

I find it very funny that one of the figures they count is Alternators Rodimus, aat toy that sold out 5 minutes after it went online back 8 months ago! If I could buy I would.

When did 3 inch Soundwave come out? I missed it completely in stores.

Why do they always come out with these promotions after everyone has been buying their junk for at least 6 months now? Unless this is a ploy by Hasbro to get you to buy more of their crap.

This would be great. I'd have more than enough to get my $50 with just my alternator collection. It's a shame this wasn't running longer as I don't have receipts for 95% of this crap!

I am aiming for full $50 reward, now my evil plan's at work. Hehehe!

However after reading the web details and rebate form, I like to point out a couple of things worth noting here:

1) Not all TF figures qualify, only the ones listed on HTS.com do. So pay attention carefully on what to buy or submit receipts with. (http://www.hasbro.com/playrewards/default.cfm?page=products/catalog&brand_id=496&sort=displayname&viewall=yes)

2) I am not too confident submitting Target receipts, as they don't specifically list out toy names, but they only show assorted class DPCI numbers & the word "Transformers", Hasbro "might" not accept those receipts

Any other thoughts/inputs?

Not that I would do this, but I wonder if their computers are smart enough to look for returns. Can I just buy $100+ worth of Transformers, send the receipt to Hasbro, then 89 days later walk into Target and return the toys without a reciept for a full refund, as is their policy?

Eh, I've already got the entire Clssics line (Minus Ultra Magnus and Skywarp) but all the others I already have, so I will have to wait until universe, assuming that they keep this play rewards system around for that long.

Looks like past receipts are no good. And there's really not much I want in the stores right now. By the time the Animateds roll out, this offer will be done.

THey want you to spend more money. As the government talks about giving every tax payer a Bonus 600$ return to help boost the economy you'll see alot of ploys like this from many companies to get you to spend your 600 bucks with them. Too bad there is nothing new on the shelves to buy within the small window they gave us.
