Also important to note that ALL Masterpieces going forward are going to be in-scale with MP-10. So far, that's MP Soundwave and MP Sideswipe. I'm not sure about MP-11, the remolded version of MP Starscream, which was also released as MP-11S Sunstorm, and Hasbro's MP Thundercracker.

oh right! I finally got mine yesterday! it's so freakin cool... and a lot of you are right, it looks better in person! I also picked up Generations Wheelie, he's so cool too! even comes with his slingshot! like a little Dennis the menace! haha

Agreed...for $100 it's gonna bother me if I'm not 100% happy with it. I don't think replacing it should be an issue, especially seeing that my local Toys R Us had at least four of Masterpiece Thundercracker on the shelf and I thought he would fly off the shelf too after seeing everyone on the board scrambling to get one before they disappeared, but it looks like as the initial shipments fly off the shelves, these Masterpieces become shelf warmers and shouldn't be too hard to find.

I would think stores will get even more Optimus Prime toys than Thundercracker as he is a more popular character, and seeing as Thundercracker is easy to find I hope I can easily replace my MP-10 before the 30 days is up on my receipt. I'll update this thread if I get a replacement and how it fares out.

I see alot of thundercrackers still. i figured it would go quick. I never managed to get a starscream and had a hell of a time finding skywarp. I may pick TC up cause i guess its a different mold than SS and SW but not pressed right now. between MP prime the first 3 focs, lazerbeak and cliff jumper chinese exlusives and a few other prime figures my tf budget is maxed for the month. Unless I stumble upon the foc combaticons or prime voyager/rid Ultra magnus, im tapped for a minute.

I see alot of people with issues on MP 10. I think the folding ion cannon is a little crappy. one of his stacks is loose and doesnt want to stay up. the same for the radar dish on the blue command module. didnt g1 command module shoot missles? didnt roller spring launch from g1 as well. besides missing those gimmicks and minor/ easily fixed issues, (nothing i can do about the cannon) mine is in great shape.

i havnt handled much so maybe it has issues im not aware of yet but so far i seem to have less to complain about than everyone else. my mp10 is better quality than my 20th anni mp prime imho. 20th is all sorts of loose all over but i still love him just the same.

Called my local TRU and had em look up the item number, 2 were in route last night. Scooped 1 of the 2 up this afternoon, being an Optimus fan, this was a no brainer.

The 15th is getting closer! Hopefully some good news will start pouring in soon for our online pre-orders.

Waiting on that email from TRU....

Anyone see any of these in the NY/NJ/PA tri-State? This isn't even posted on their website yet, unlike the Thundercracker.

None in my area yet, neither where I live or where I work... granted, this weekend was NYCC so if Times Square had them, they'd have sold out fast. Lol. Only time I saw one in person was at con and the vendor had him for $200. I laughed and walked by his booth.

Bought mine from Hong Kong on Ebay - never going to see it so what was the point of delaying the inevitable?

I picked one up last week with a 20% off coupon and a $5 rewards card...then cancelled my preorder I had with TRU.com. This thing is awesome

its that whole "in or around the 15th" thing that makes me say, "whenever"

So Frustrating! I even had a couple of Toys R Us employees hunting for him...without success as I learned they had 7 Thundercrackers in their basement! LMAO

I don't understand how pre-orders can be "back-ordered" when they're being released in stores :/

I asked them about my preorder, since it's kinda disturbing that the item still doesn't seem to exist on tru.com.

I have confirmed that your order is for a pre-sell item, Transformers Masterpiece Action Figure - Optimus Prime, with a scheduled future release date of 10/15/2012. This release date is the date that we are expecting to receive your item in our warehouse. Upon receipt, our warehouse will process all pre-sell orders for this item in the order they were received. When our warehouse has started the process of fulfilling your order, you will receive an email confirmation notifying you of such. Please allow 1-2 business days for our warehouse to process and ship. Upon shipment, you will receive a shipment confirmation email at -------@gmail.com.

Of course it's a bit silly to call today a "future release date", but at least it's confirmed.

BTW my local TRU in Thornton, CO still has plenty of MP Thundercracker. No MP Optimus as of Saturday, though.

I would however like to offer you some education on what a PRE-ORDER means.

Release dates change for toys all the time. It’s just the way it is. HOWEVER, there is NOT ONE store that offers items in their physical stores while COMPLETELY IGNORING the online pre-orders placed. Why? Because these customers are PAYING customers that obviously want the product urgently enough to place an order for it A MONTH IN ADVANCE. Do you not get that? This toy is in your physical stores RIGHT NOW for random people to buy, while your GUARANTEED SALES have been 100% NEGLECTED. And don’t even bother with another form letter response telling me how your “distribution system” for TRU.com is “different” than for the stores. That is complete CRAP, especially because this toy is a TRU exclusive so there is NOWHERE else for it to go!

Do the fans and collectors a favor. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HAVE A PRE-ORDER SYSTEM IF YOU CANNOT ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT IT!!!

TRU.com is a subsidiary of ToysRusInc. They have no connection to the Brick'n'mortar stores other then shipping merchandise to the local stores when offered online ship to store. Do some homework before sending an email like that. They have no control over what product is on the shelves at your local store, or any store.

Every other retailer in the history of retailers fulfills pre-orders FIRST. Any other practice, which has been exhibited here, is unacceptable. Just because they have different "systems" is no excuse. The fact that these EXCLUSIVE toys have hit the United States, and their warehouses, cannot be denied.

TRU.com will send you your pre-order before they put any online.
They don't have any in their Warehouse, other wise they would be shipping them.
ToysRus has them in their warehouse because they are a different company.

just like Walmart.com, Target.com, or any other. They are just subsidiaries.
The whole reason why they won't match online pricing.

It's not just different systems dude, it's totally seperate warehouses as well. The website orders are designed to be able to ship out to customers. The brick and mortar stores get all their stuff from distribution centers, who don't have the shipping software to deal with customers. Hell they probably don't even carry boxes to ship stuff out. All they do is receive containers of products, palletize it, mix it with other product on hand, and turn around and ship those pallets to stores. I work in warehousing, and believe me there is a HUGE difference between shipping to customers & dealing with DC's. I will bet my entire collection that they are totally seperate buildings that don't interact at all.

Umm... TRU is not a store I want to piss off with online orders. They are notorious for shafting people...

Plus, when did TRU ever make sense?

I was weary of ordering anything from them because of all the bull that went on last Christmas season. So I'm not surprised with this nonsense, doesn't mean it's not frustrating as heck though.

Let's just hope they get them out soon. Stay cool. So far they're only one day late. Not like they're a month overdo.

Just to ease your mind, I figured that I would let you know that when I called and spoke to a CS rep at TRU.com she said that MP Prime is indeed on backorder status. She stated that the order would be filled once the supplier ships the allotment to them, and assured me that it would not be arbitrarily canceled.

So basically, its just a matter of when the orders will be fulfilled.

Clearly misjudged the demand, that's for sure! Not KEWL! not to mention the fact that how is it that some people were able to place pre-orders and others still can not? It's CRAP!
