Q: How did the mixup that resulted in Sideswipe and Sunstreaker getting switched occur?
Actually I'm betting that has more to do with Bob Budiansky and Marvel than Hasbro, he did EVERYTHING to do with the original concepts, and I'm betting his answer would be "I don't remember, I'm sorry."
Q: You said at Botcon that Trailbreaker has not been forgotten. Just how is he being remembered?
I get the feeling that we'll see him in toy form sooner or later. From how they acted, I think for every two concepts they showed us, there was one that they didn't.

Its about time they make in scale human characters with some type of articulations. They can be 1 and a half inches. 4 point of articulation. We really need this. What about the nest hanger scene any mini figures with this one too?![]()
I wouldn't hold your breath on this. The reception in the room to this was about only about 25% in favour of the idea.

Q: You said at Botcon that Trailbreaker has not been forgotten. Just how is he being remembered?
1) The current theory is that the Tech Specs are based on their Diaclone versions. Diaclone was the Japanese toyline by Takara that spawned the Autobot Cars, Decepticon Jets, Dinobots, Insecticons, and anything else with a cockpit for a pilot, as they were human-controlled robots. Diaclone had a red Sunstreaker and a yellow Sideswipe, and the decision to switch their colors did not reach the writer in time it seemed.
2) It's been a while since we've last seen a proper Trailbreaker(homage), but here's some worthy efforts:
- a BotCon exclusive Trailbreaker was considered by 3H Enterprises (the previous owners of the BotCon license), based on RiD X-Brawn. This was probably in 2003, alongside the other two Autobot Brother molds. That's the reason why he was featured in Universe #1.
- Cybertron Overhaul had the working name Trailbreaker, thus the name of his evolved form Leobreaker.
- Universe Spychanger Ironhide has deco inspired by Trailbreaker, and was infact meant to be him in the G1 Spychanger series.
Unfortunately, the Trailbreaker trademark is out of Hasbro long reach.

Anyhow...
2.For the ROTF line, why are there new molds for non-appearance characters but several of the Constructicons aren't yet made?
Because they didn't want shelves filled with various different construction vehicles, they wanted lots of different molds out there. A case assortment of 4 similarly colored construction vehicles would be pretty boring.
But they weren't similarly colored, they only made Long Haul, Demolishor/Scavenger, MixMaster, and Rampage, all different colors. Now that the line is ending anyways, and they seem to be making new molds, wouldn't it make sense to at least finish the Constructiocons who were actually there?(Which is just Scrapper, and that is a serious question)

Personally, I think it makes a better sense to put out new Generations and WFC molds that tons of people want and make tons of cash, rather than getting a few new constructicon molds out to the relativly few people who want them. Hasbro doesn't like to stay with one line too long.
Long story short, you have all of the new RotF constructicon molds you are going to get.

I just meant sense they seem to be finishing up the movie line and all(until next year or so) why not complete what was in the movie.
But then again if it won't sell well...

2. Is there a possibility that we might see a Generations Devcon?
3. Any chance we'll see a Generations 'War for Cybertron' Ultra Magnus?

I like this question. Hasbro doing this upsets me no-end.

To all the "any chance" questions: Just wait and see.

Classics Rodimus without Firebolt.
Universe Hardhead without Duros.
Generations Blurr without Haywire.
Generations Scourge without Fracas.
FunPub Nightbeat without Muzzle.
The toys almost feel "incomplete" without them.
