Waste of what, might I ask? Not of money, that's for sure. At least not for us. (Possible for Ryan)
But go ahead, be mad that your FREE ENTERTAINMENT isn't giving you everything you want.
Time?
Free entertainment? Wha?
Seibertron.com is NOT charity. The site isn't up b/c someone feels sorry for me or the bored fandom...![]()
In addition, it wouldn't be hard to imagine this nifty little site pulling in some sort of revenue or other such benefits. Look at your sidebar if you don't belive that.
Mad? Not even close. Disappointed? Hell yea. I think alot of this site. In fact, it's the ONLY TF related site I visit. *period*
Am I not allowed to express my disappointment?
UPDATE:
I'm not saying this is an exact science here...but check out dnscoop.com.

Site Value Report
The estimated value of http://www.seibertron.com is: $97,500
This value is calculated based on several factors shown above, including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web.
You can buy and sell established sites in the dnScoop Marketplace."
Again, not necessarily an accurate science, but if the site CAN make money, then it SHOULD.
SO, in your opinion, Ryan should be charging posters in order to make profit?
Ok, you can pay him if you want, but this is a free internet discussion forum not a company.
Isn't it strange that the posters stating that this was a waste of their time it is the first post of theirs that I have seen in this thread?
I don't know if you were guessing or not, but if you weren't then why do you care that it wasn't something larger than what it turned out to be?
Klozminded-G1 wrote:As far charging for the site? I suppose that is up to the discretion of the site owner. This would NOT be the first MESSAGE FORUM to do so should that decision be made.

Then you subtract the cost of keeping the site up and running, the bandwidth cost, the galleries, the camera he uses, and the various other expenses...Ryan doesn't make much.
I think he once said he made like $12.50 from the site. Don't quote me on that though.
Robinson wrote:For all of the people bitching about the fact that the gallery ended up being "a repaint" I see 10 more that think its cool and the "game" was worth it. All the staff and mods did was drop some clues, everyone else that posted on the topic made it the hype that it was. We still have people guessing even when it was revealed 20 pages ago so who is building it up to be something so great? Just because 15 people think it was a waste of time doesnt mean the other 200 that posted on here think the same.
And also this site is somewhat of a charity, It is maintained by a group of people that do this of their own free will and with no sort of financial compensation. This site is purely for our enjoyance of the transformer brand and those things associated with. And im sure that if you ask Ryan he will tell you that this site is worth more than 97,000 dollars. For him to be able to share what he enjoys with others that dabble in the hobby it's probably priceless., To wait 20 years to see something you dreamed about as a kid come to life means more than "aww man that 1 guy doesnt like my repaint gallery, let me shut it all down".
I'm saying this last part to you specifically klozeminded-gi. Never have I seen a screen name that was more appropriate and fitting when it comes that the particular persons posts.
Mods if you feel this is too much lemme know, if not then cool.

He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?
I wanted to show the passage of time between posts, but I see your point. Sorry.Predaprince wrote:First off, Omegawrath, there is an edit button to edit a post and add more text so please try not to triple post from now on.
Secondly, given that this thread went for 75 pages, it was discovered quite early that it was going to be a gallery of a figure, the question on most of our minds was which figure.
