Hey All,

I recently dusted off a box of my old G1's and saw that my bumblebee was not a VW Bug. Can someone fill me in on why this might be? I'm the original owner so I know this is how it came. Here are some pictures:

Well, at first I thought you had the rare bumblejumper. But I then realized it was on a Bumblebee card. It is a cliffjumper in a yellow scheme like BB. People will add some images later, its 3:00 am here.

There is G1 Bumblebee (faceplate)
G1 Reissue (Face)
G1 Cliffjumper
Yellow Cliffjumper
Red Bumblebee (faceplate)
Bumblejumper (on a cliffjumper card with a different molded face)

Now I might be missing stuff. I can be corrected later

That would be bumblejumper. He was released on a bumblebee or cliffjumper card. He is rarer than bumblebee. Worth quite a bit MOSC.

Well that figure would appear to be Bumper as it is the Mazda Familia mold. But strange you actually have a picture of his on a Bumblebee card, if that's real you have a pretty rare item there. Most Bumpers were found on Cliffjumper cards.

Yeah that's definitely the card it came on. Although it is opened.

The red VW is still Bumblebee, for some reason a large later production run the colors were reversed between BB's VW mold and Cliffjumpers Porsche mold. While the colors swapped the mold determines the character.

Thanks for the welcome! I have two boxes of TS that I hadn't opened in over 15 years and just going through it all.

I just had a thought. Did the cliffjumper card come with the yellow bumblejumper? Could I have simply put the cars back into the wrong package years ago?

You might. While the colors on the toys were reversed, the art stayed the same, so the Bumblebee card likely had the red 'bee on it, and the Bumper on Cliff's card, which is more likely to have occurred.
